This statement is utter pap. There is no such thing as a Conservative focus on the individual liberties of a black man which also doesn't result in the same for society as a whole.

So far, we have an uncited claim that Progressivism has resulted in food labels.

I also do know that Progressivism has resulted in pedophiles being given the rights of the disabled in Greece.

Any Progressive proud of that yet? No huzzahs? Hm. They're better at being Progressive than you, apparently.

Your book is a world history book and a general overview at that. And I will assume that the conversation is over with respect to the unconstitutional foreign and domestic policies of TR. You do not want to get in a constitutional debate on any of your objections because I will bury your young and inexperienced tail alive in facts.

I was once young and emotion swayed me more than fact once too. However, I refuse to argue with a 16 year old who thinks he knows it all. My experiences in this field compelles me to ignore you as fact and reason, as we have seen, does not sway you one direction or the other. Its all contradiction. I dont contradict. I argue.

FDR more or less WAS a dictator.

When it came to every policy.

    Fixed.

Wrong. Classical liberalism = modern libertarianism.

Hey, food labels are important. They let me know which pretzels are the saltiest and therefore the yummiest :)

Beating someone for falling asleep has never been legal.

Reduced work hours = reduced annual income for the worker and reduced productivity for the company.

Building code regulations are stupid and worthless.

Corruption? Seriously? Lawl, the Progressive movement is just as corrupt as the conservatives.

Open a history book some time. Wilson wanted to go easy on Germany. It was France and Russia who wanted the Germans to suffer.

Calm down, now... young people aren't the only ones who know nothing while thinking that they know everything :-D

    This claptrap is utter nonsense.
Only the idiot right was against the New Deal, as it is against anything that doesn't revolve around their social Darwinist notions of society.

And where did you get this idea from?

    Any stand out in particular?

    At one point, yes.

State the condition of the children toward the latter part of the day, who have thus to keep up with the machinery. - It is as much as they do when they are not very much fatigued to keep up with their work, and toward the close of the day, when they come to be more fatigued, they cannot keep up with it very well, and the consequence is that they are beaten to spur them on.

Were you beaten under those circumstances? - Yes. s Frequently? - Very frequently.

Don't worry. When they're so tired from working 14 hours, they're only tired at home,or :
when working those long hours, commonly very much fatigued at night, when I left my work; so much so that I sometimes should have slept as I walked if I had not stumbled and started awake again; and so sick often that I could not eat, and what I did eat I vomited.

    Are you joking?

I'm not going to say every single one of them was gem, but managed to do some really important things. IE, public recalls, referendums.

The 16th Amendment allowed the growth of bloated government, the 'reforms' served a precedent for a legal basis for today's mess and by far the worst with the 17th Amendment making the Senator no longer beholding to his state and instead a panderer on a grand scale to the mob.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

: “We are spending more than we have ever spent before, and it does not work. … We have never made good on our promises. I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. And an enormous debt to boot!” - Henry Morgenthau...Treasury sec to FDR
