House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA) issued subpoenas on Friday to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig for the last six years of President Trump’s business and personal tax returns.

The subpoenas were issued after previous requests by Neal for the tax returns — under an obscure law that requires the IRS to produce any taxpayer’s returns if requested by Congress — were declined by the Trump administration.

I should have put this in the "stonewall" thread. Dems continue to carry out their constitutional responsibilities of checking an out of control, lawless admin. It's just another day on the golf course for the Chief Obstructer who feels his admin should be immune to the principle of checks and balances.

I say keep the subpoenas coming. Just as the FBI would have been derelict in not investigating "the Russia thing" so too Congress would Congress be if they didn't try to make Don comply with his constitutional obligations.

What a laughable farce that the GOP pretends to be the party of strict constitutional adherence.
