Ok, so I assume that you've seen the thread about Housing in Communist economies (Housing in Communist economies). Today, we're going to look at the (non)housing in capitalist economies. Or in other words, no affordable housing.

So, I've just explained it!! A capitalist society moves towards a point of no affordable housing for its people. Affordable housing puts a damper on the profits of land developers, banks, and anyone else who can buy a home and jack-up the price before reselling it.

Let's look at the tongue-in-cheek approach to explaining it:

So, why don't you tell the poor slobs to suck it up and live in a mobile home? Well, that's no longer an affordable housing choice either. The parks are hiking the prices to drive everyone out so they can build luxury apartments.

So, what is the answer to the affordable housing problem>? Go live on the streets!!! The elements will take care of your problem for you. I've heard that the average lifespan of a homeless person is 2 years. It's nature's way of thinning the herd.

So, what happens when the majority of people can't afford housing? (As we know future generations will be poorer than previous generations.) Thinning the herds only works when the number of people who are homeless is in the minority and is mostly out of sight. Some people think that this will be when the people revolt and take out the government. But, no. I don't think that's where we're going.

Rather, I think that it's what is called end-stage capitalism. Not because there will be any communist revolution, but simply that state of being where the capitalists can't make money anymore. Those luxury homes will sit there unused because nobody can afford them anymore. There will be no money to be made anymore, and those bloodsuckers will leave the country in search of greener pastures elsewhere in the world. Maybe they will go to China next. After all, they seem to be the next upcoming economy for the capitalist parasites to leach off of while the poverty-stricken former first-world becomes a sewer of poverty and negative-value humans.

We've always known this was coming, or at least I did. So, those are my thoughts on the state of housing in (end-stage) capitalist economies.
