Walmart quietly lays off thousands of workers after bonus announcement https://thinkprogress.org/walmart-bonus-layoffs-ed187882b011/ Walmart Workers to Executives: We Can't Pay Our Bills https://www.thestreet.com/story/141...walmart-workers-demand-company-do-better.html
Walmart is closing down stores - Mostly Sams Club, that are not competitive. At the same time, thanks to the REPUBLICAN tax cut that not one Democrat voted for has Walmart handing out bonuses, increasing benefits and raising its minimum wage to $11/Hr How can you find something so small as a few laid off employees and miss more money for 2.3 million employees. Typical of you people
What the hell does this have to do with tax reform? FAKE NEWS! Walmarts are healthy as they can be around here. I think they overbuilt them, and are closing the stores in some of the rundown locations. I've noticed the past few months they actually have someone checking receipts, I've often wondered just how bad their shrinkage was before with literally no one watching the doors. Sams Club is the one taking the hit, I've never understood why anyone would pay a membership fee when you can get pretty much the same merchandise at the Walmart Stores. They are competing with themselves, and losing out on their base. Poor people won't buy a membership. I'm really surprised it's taken this long to weed out Sams. Walmarts are PACKED everywhere but in nasty urban areas.
