The low birthrate and it's consequences.

How low birth rates could threaten our civilization

The village we moved to in central Italy is lovely — old stone houses and olive trees on a hillside — but it is eerily deserted most of the time. A neighbor in his forties says that when he grew up here, it was full of children playing in the cobbled streets. There were about 350 people then, he tells me; now the population is precisely forty-two, and that includes the latest residents, me and my wife. The village is dying on its feet, becoming a perfectly preserved museum piece. My neighbor shakes his head and says how sad it is. There are many villages like this in Italy. First one house is boarded up, then another; the trattoria closes, after that the bakery and other shops, and then people leave all at once because the place isn’t what it was. Some mayors are famously offering newcomers houses for just €1. This makes almost no difference because of something that is happening across the whole country: Italians are not having as many babies as they used to.

A good article about the effects of a declining birthrate. It focuses on Italy but you can see the future of the US there.

"Be fruitful and multiply" brings strength to a nation and culture. Ultimately the nation and culture that has babies dominates in the end.

I'm fascinated with the Amish population stats through the years....the way they multiply ...who knows....we might be majority Amish in 200 years

From what I've seen, people are not reproducing due to uncertainty about the future.

In the 1950s there was a baby boom, houses were available in quantity at low costs
with low cost mortgages, interest rates were stable at 4 1/4 percent, the future seemed
    predictable.

Now none of that is true. Employment at all levels is threatened by immigration, interest
rates are high and rising, the future of the dollar is insecure with inflation now at
    3 percent per Month.

The National Debt is a big threat to the future value of the dollar, Joe has started more wars
than he can deal with, and pushing Russia off the dollar means everyone trading with Russia
will also eventually have to go off the dollar, and that eventually means everyone.

Threatening to confiscate 300 Billion dollars from Russia has sent the signal that any dollars
can be stolen from almost any country.

The Amish feel secure, they grow a lot of their own food mostly using their own fertilizers
and low tech methods, resulting of course in better quality food as well as greater security.

They have a community, and with that a feeling of security.

Do you care about your neighbor, others at church or at work?
    Have you told them?

No worries! Biden has let enough rapists cross the border that I don't think fertility will be an issue!

Well religious people outperform secular people in the fertility race in almost every country. If there were no immigration, an America in 200 years could likely be made up of Amish and Hassidics.

There are several reasons why small towns in Italy are disappearing. One of the main reasons is the aging population and low birth rates, which means that there are fewer young people to take over businesses and maintain the infrastructure of these towns. Additionally, many young people are leaving small towns in search of better job opportunities in larger cities or abroad. This results in a shrinking population and a lack of economic growth. Another factor is the impact of globalization, which has led to the closure of many small businesses in favor of larger chains. Finally, natural disasters and climate change have also played a role in the decline of some small towns in Italy.

This is why we need an overhaul to our immigration system. We should be welcoming people who desire to join our culture and help build our strength and economy.

This needs to be done in a controlled and orderly fashion. Some of our strongest periods were reinforced by labor from immigration.

That's perfectly fine if you think of your country like a corporation, in which the employees don't really matter, and if one group doesn't work out, just hire another group. Our current immigration policy is surge to the border to fill up the country with people who are disinterested in doing what you think they should want to do.
