New idea...why couldn't a policy be put in place that there must be a voluntary sponsor family to take in and house every refugee family that we take in? I'm talking about all refugees, not just from one particular place. Benefits would be the number of refugees would reflect how many the U.S. can absorb and also the people's actual wishes. Taxpayers wouldn't need to pay for housing for them, so it would cut the cost. The host would be reimbursed (with receipts required) for all purchases spent on the refugee family, so no one could use the excuse of I can't afford it. Also (and most delicious) it would be a "put your money where your mouth is" to virtue signalers who call for more, more, more! As it's easy to call for always more when you'll only have to pay for a fraction of their care and they won't be placed in your neighborhood, so it's pain-free. So how many would volunteer their home?

Here is another idea, cut the number of legal immigrants for the year by the number of refugees we take in. That way the numbers remain steady. Sucks if you are waiting for someone on a fiancé visa or some other visa but we don't have the ability to take in unlimited numbers of people.

Yes we do have plenty 0f room for more immigrants. We have 11 MILLION vacant jobs and no one applying for them. Most of the Ukrainian's seem to be very well educated and most can speak English fluently, and I bet if you stopped 100 people on our streets you'd be lucky to find one who spoke Ukranian or Russian.

You may be right. Many legal immigrants are a credit to the U.S. So, would you be willing to take a refugee family into your home while they assimilate and until they can move out and be self-supportive?

According to the link below, the Biden Administration would accept up to 100k refugees.

Refugee process in the United States involves three governmental agencies if coming from outside the United States or one agency if coming from inside the United States or at it's border.
