Maybe the media will suddenly start telling the truth about the war in Ukraine
before the war gets even worse, that Russia did not in fact start it, the neocons
currently running our country did, and we should not blame Russia.

Or maybe that's over simplified, after all, how do you get our politicians
to tell the truth? Do we want them to?

I understand Biden was knocked off the 1988 Presidential for lying, but does
anyone really care? What if he's still at it?

What if the Neocons really do think it is still 1990?

Has a huge military budget helped us avoid wars, or fund them?

Yeah and WWII wasn’t started by Hitler, it actually started at the treaty of Versailles in 1918 putting poor Germany on a path where they just had no choice but to blame Jews for their problems and start invading their neighbors. Hitlers actions were totally understandable.

I don't care all that much what opinions people have but I do want
them to be opinions that lead to viable courses of action.

Opinions like 'we will beat BRICS even though it is bigger and has a higher
growth rate because we are Murca and have won every war we've ever been
in and we will beat Russia and China and the Middle East too', are not
beliefs likely to work out very well.

Opinions like: 'we will stop war making and fix our country' are more likely to
    lead to good outcomes.

    Other response ...

Putin might be dumb enough to fire the first shot, but the real worry is Iran. They reportedly have enough weapons grade uranium to set off a bomb. The last bombing they conducted against Israel shows that they are less powerful than they claim they are. Still, the people who run the country on unhinged enough to start a war if some "chief billy goat" or a rogue group gets control of their weapons, even for an instant.

The highest probability for the start of a nuclear is from Iran. Second place goes to North Korea.
