We owe 20 trillon+ Dollars to the world. Here is an idea, have the Federal Reserve print out 20 new trillion dollars in those new 100 dollar bills and pay the world (china). They are just paper anyway right? Means nothing. So we pay everyone. We arent in debt anymore. Will this work? it's like making monopoly money and paying up. What's the problem? money is just paper.

no, its a horrible idea. Its the Wiemar republic in germany. After world war I the allies forced germany to pay their debts and germanys. So germany printed all the money, and gave it to them.

The printing caused massive inflation, such that people had to bring wheel barrows full of cash to buy a loaf of bread. The depression led to the rise of Adolf Hitler.

Ever heard of the Weimar Republic?

Why is it that horribly bad ideas like debasing currency recur again and again"
