The answer to slow down and stop a revolutionary process can be found in history (English history over the last fifteen hundred years, the kings)
What kings had were there castles (fortresses) and servants and guards.
They didn't move but were able to cause motion and emotion in the population by using tyranny. They caused resistance (sets the population in motion), so they caused organisation of a population.
So the answer to stop a revolutionary process is doing exactly the opposite. Stop moving. Stand firm.
But the problem is emotion, emotion is so powerful (because it is very old) that millions start stand up (getting in motion, Egypt, Ukraine and today once again thousands of Turkish people), react on the rhetorics from radical politicians, react to fear, to euforism, on everything that raises emotions.
By reacting, opposition (or a union) is gaining momentum, thus organisation via the opposition, organisation via a revolt, both lead tot the same, movements (revolts vs political parties vs unions, there is no fundamental difference)
And the 'king' just sat still in his castle, and waited.
People should do the same, sit still in their little castles called homes.
