How will Trump try to smear Biden now?

Trump's pressuring a foreign power to discredit his political rival backfired, his squalid caper was exposed, and Trump was impeached.

Neither Trump's own Justice Department, his vast investigative apparatus, nor the government of Ukraine, nor that of China to whom Trump appealed, have contrived any evidence of Biden corruption whatever.

As Biden's presidential prospects appeared to diminish, squawking "Socialist, Socialist!" became the approved meme.

Now that Biden's fortunes have revived, will Trumpers revert to their failed slime scheme, or will they resort to yet another variant on their "Lock her up! Lock her up!" mob incitement?

There are "sh*thole countries" that lock up political rivals without the prerequisites of decent democratic nations - indictment, trial, conviction, sentencing - but even under rampant Trumpery, the U.S. is not numbered among them. Yet.

The safeguards of enlightened jurisprudence do not preclude contriving a vague and nebulous stench of corruption, of course.

Will they actually try it again? (Presumably, they'll not yet resort to claiming that Joe is a foreign-born Muslim.)

... Less than 24 hours after his father reignited his presidential campaign by decisively winning the South Carolina Democratic primary, Republican Senator Ron Johnson disinterred the fizzled Hunter Biden fabrication.

Throughout the impeachment inquiry, [Trump] alleged, without evidence, that Hunter Biden received a “payoff” from Ukraine. Now, with a distinct possibility of Joe Biden earning the nomination, Hunter Biden is being targeted again.

Johnson, a Trumpy Republican who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, suddenly announced that the abandoned Ukraine fable is being unearthed.

It may not be reconsigned to oblivion unless Joe Biden's political fortunes once again diminish.

If Joe Biden wants to win all he has to hide in a cave and let the MSM handle it.

Well, something backfired in all of that at least.

Anyways, I'm curious if there are any facts regarding Hunter Biden and Ukraine that we do agree on. For example, do you believe the he served on the board of Burisma? That he was payed lavishly for a position that his past experience and skills did not well-qualify him for? That his connection to his father, the Administration's "point person on Ukraine", seem most-relevant to his receiving that job?

Once the election returns made it obvious, I too wondered what Trump's strategy will be and whether he will bring up the Burisma thing again on the campaign trail.

I also wondered, is an incumbent president required to participate in a debate with a rival?

If Trump does participate in a presidential debate with Biden down the road, odds are he will bring it up, even though I have a fairly strong feeling that any campaign manager would say to steer away from that altogether.

There's no "requirement" in the Constitution, just something of a norm in recent decades, but I can't imagine President Trump would shy away from a chance to showcase how senile Joe is becoming in front of a national audience.

BTW, in case the OP hasn't picked up on it yet "Joe is senile" is the preferred narrative currently, and Joe helps it along just about every time he opens his mouth, as StarFox alluded to.

Actually, both of them stumbling and losing track of their conversations will be an amusing debate to watch. And spittle! There will be lots of it.

Of course, Trumpsters will only see Joe's deficits, and everyone else will see Trump's.

He was a board member for a specific period of time. I am not acquainted with the compensation of Burisma board members. I am not qualified to assess his qualifications. Are there children of politicians who owe their jobs to Daddy? Of course. Should they all be investigated? Of course not.

I don't see how being a compensated board member of indeterminate qualifications of a foreign corporation demands a GOP Senate investigation because one's father is a political rival of the GOP President.

How many board members of undetermined qualifications of foreign corporations who do not have fathers who are political rivals of presidents have been or are now being investigated?

The fact you have a belief that people won't notice or care about Joe's "issues" is short sighted and telling.

Bloomberg says he is your best "chance" to beat trump.

Everything I need to know in life I learned from cracker jacks

And the fact that you consistently overlook Trump's deficits is beyond short sighted!

Unfortunately, I'd agree with that. His campaign was in shambles before super Tuesday. He basically ran out of money.

The sad thing: Trump smears himself too every time he opens his mouth. Yet, his fans still love him. I don't think Dems can muster such unconditional love for Biden. That's why Trump will win, he gets the turnout, Dems will stay at home.

Again, we are screwed by the red states, even in Dem primaries.

P.S.: it will definitely be entertaining to see a 73 year old call a 77 year old senile and old, as the main character attack.

I know trump isn't close to perfect and isn't an angel, it's just when he stands next to Democrats he looks like one.

Much negative connotation I feel... :icon_yoda:

Would you like me to go away? Seems "selfish".

He'd leak the Bidens out to the press about their shady dealings in the Ukraine and sew that seed of doubt in everybody's minds if Biden wins the nomination to run against him.
