So much of this forum is so negative. Just because it's the nature of the beast. Politics makes people emotional. And so we all tend to fight a lot. But it sure is nice to have a section or two where we can kind of kick back and just chill and be cool with one another. It just sucks that these are usually some of the slowest sections. I'd love to get to know some of you guys better outside of our respective partisan lines.
I totally agree! Lately I've been browsing around the Off-Topic and Member Casual Chat forums more often now and posting very little in my regular forums. I've actually been trying to work on my book IRL and have been revising a few things like names and back stories before I get started. Also working on an epic playlist of instrumental music to jam to while I write/type. I know a thing or two about you Unifier, we completely disagree on most political subjects but you are one of the funniest guys I see on here. I love clever and witty people! And I find that those I disagree with are also usually the most hilarious people outside of politics. =)
I used to think these threads outside of politics were pointless, but considering we are all basically part of a shared community here, to use corporate vocabularly, this is a good team building exercise. Harder to be condenscending, and to assume the worst motivations when you have BS'd with someone.
Thank you, Pasithea. I know we're mortal enemies in the abortion section, but you seem like a total sweetheart on here and I get the feeling you're probably a really awesome person. I think we'd probably be pretty good friends in real life.
Oh completely! lol I get along with most everybody as long as we don't talk about politics. Really there is so much more to life than politics too. =P By the way that's some good info you have in your signature about knife crime. It never even occurred to me that knife crime could be higher in a country where guns are not as prevalent and I was actually looking up the statistics and was surprised to see how high knife crime is in England and other countries. I suppose that no matter where you go humans will always have a predilection to be violent and use whatever is most available to harm others. So sad really.
