Not that it's certain that this is the guy but I always thought that law enforcement would find the murderer. Let's hope this is him and if it is, he pays for it with his life.

Apparently when he was arrested he had a blank stare on his face and asked whether or not anyone else had been arrested. Not sure what to think of that, but there might have been more then one killer. If this is indeed him, considering the savage and brutality of these murders, it's creepy to be staring right into the eyes of a Monster. Let's hope this is him, so we have this beast off the streets. He does kind of have those souless dead eyes a lot or murderers have.

Apparently he lived in an apartmen in Pullman Washington, which is about 10 miles away from the murder house, he left town for a reason, so I'm really curious of what evidence pointed them to him.

He reportedly asked if anyone else had been arrested. He didn't have an attorney when he asked that question. He either had an accomplice or was trying to throw them off perhaps? I could see him saving himself from the ID death penalty by giving up his accomplice. I look forward to the news conference coming later today to see how strong a case this is against Kohberger.

Whew, I'm glad there is finally movement on this case. Hopefully they got the right guy.

I'm interested in finding out how exactly they tracked him down.

Guessing they tracked every white Hyundai Elantra registered in the area and investigated each and every one. When they came to this crime aficionado who suddenly left the area to move back in with his parents in Pennsylvania they thought they had their man.

The word is now that they have his DNA at the scene. How they traced it to him is currently a mystery, at least publicly. I think that this will be a very interesting case to unravel. So far all the law enforcement entities seemed to be working together to solve this and not grab headlines. Hope that continues until he's strung up.

I'm glad he was caught. Now, the fine citizens and residents of Moscow, Idaho can rest easier now. What is interesting me is how he knew one of the victims. According to reports, his DNA matched the DNA found in the crime scene. The irony is he is a criminology student at a nearby university.

My guess is the car that was seen shortly after the murders.

Terrible event. It's going to be interesting to hear what this scumbag's motive was.

I don't think we will ever know what the motive is. The prosecution will put forth a theory, but they are not required to offer a motive to prove beyond a reasonable doubt first-degree murder.

Kohberger is a criminal justice and criminology Ph.D student at Washington State University and he was doing a research project that sought to “understand how emotions and psychological traits influence decision-making when committing a crime.” It could be an experiment to understand how it feels like.

May have asked the Chinese to run it through their global database of everyone's DNA lol

An extradition hearing shouldn't take more than three minutes. It is one of the more clearly written articles in the constitution.

Article IV Section 2 = "A Person charged in any State with Treason, Felony, or other Crime, who shall flee from Justice, and be found in another State, shall on Demand of the executive Authority of the State from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the State having Jurisdiction of the Crime."

I believe it was but knowing whose car it was doesn't get you DNA. So they either had to get a sample from a family member or follow him until they were able to get a sample surreptitiously.

Not that this isn't an appalling tragedy, like something from a horror film but part of me wonders if this would have got so much attention if it weren't a bunch of pretty, middle class white kids?

True, but it does narrow down the search of who the suspect is. With traffic cams and good ole gumshoe work, that list was narrowed even further. The type of car he drove was not unique, but it was not as common of a car as some may suspect.

What I read was that they used DNA profiling of the suspect such as been reported by Dateline and other programs on cold cases where DNA was found, but no suspects have been identified.

It got national attention for three reasons: It was in a small town. It was in a state where something like this rarely happens. And they were killed in their home with no suspect to be found.

Apparently the guy is working on an advanced degree in criminal justice. If true, that suggests he's totally into it. Was his question a Freudian slip, or something else? Was he attempting to 'bait' the authorities?

Whatever, I hope they can develop this case and prove he was the one.

From what I have heard, possibly his father or other families are in the military and have provided dna. So if they ran a check on the two college campuses as to the ones who owned that white car they had a shortened list of possible suspects. Then, if they had suspected DNA they could check it against that list. Now that is only a small percentage because it is only family DNA but it is something. If they can get his DNA, the fix is in! But just by his profile I would think he would be highly suspect. I heard someone say he might have been tracked down soley on the DNA and when the car was located, that was an additional prize. Nancy Grace has said without a doubt there will be traces of blood in that car. It's all speculation at this point but we'll find out soon!

From what was said at the press conference, when he is returned to Idaho they can release much more information. I venture to guess that if this crime was committed before DNA analysis existed this crime would have never been solved.

I don't think you can link his studies in criminology and what he did. this is like everyone who is studyiing computer science is into hacking and terrorist activities. They are mutually exclusive.

I think it is ironic, kinda like "How to Get Away with Murder" a somewhat popular TV program.

Apparently a family genealogy database was involved. It might have Chinese links :).

My suspicion is he knew one of the victims and the other three just "got in the way."

Didn't one of the girl's relatives say she had a connection to this guy?
