Intellectual Dark Web is the name of the "movement" that has spoken against the ongoing dumbening and degenration of the intellectual discourse. Prominent and leading figures include persons like Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro and Sam Harris.

What these "members" have in common is that they are not afraid of talking about "controversial topics". But, what exactly is it that they are trying to achieve?

There is no hiding that these people are only Right-Wing in the sense that they are on the rightest flank of Centre-Leftism and most of them are not even denying that. Yet, The Left demonises them as being "Far Right" and many people on the Right adore these men for all the wrong reasons, thinking they are Right-Wing.

What these "members" have in common is that they are all extremely repetetive and some of them only engage in debates with loud idiots or have gained their popularity from doing so. None of them really ever touches any really controversial topic and claiming there is only two genders or that identity politics is bad is neither brave nor enlightenned. Have they ever talked about anything that is actually controversial?

And what is this obsession with dialogue anyways?

In my eyes, IDW is some form of - not controlled, but rather - domesticated opposition.

Thread is open for discussion and reflections and does not really have a strictly limited topic-question.
