If GOP takes the White House, how long until we're at war with Iran?

After watching the GOP debates last night, I started to become very uneasy with the thought that what I heard from the candidates seemed to be indicating war with Iran is inevitable.

Every candidate on that stage was OK with the idea of a 'Pre-Emptive' war with Iran (Minus RP of course), based on very loose and unconfirmed information on thier development of nuclear weapons. (Sounds alot like Iraq WMDs to me..)

Have we learned nothing from Iraq? We cannot sustain ourselves and continue to overextend our reach into the Middle east as a military force. War must always be used only as a last resort and diplomacy must always be pursued as the first avenue of conflict resolution. Ron Paul made some excellent points about how a non-interventionist strategy is the best road to peace with Islam, and I'm starting to seriously agree with him.

I can only hope that the American media and the American people are not so easily swayed towards a policy of war as we were in 2003. War with Iran would be devistating.

Id like to hear from some republicans and thier thoughts on how we should deal with Iran and still avoid another War.

They've been saying Iran is "only months away from acquiring nuclear weapons" for almost ten years now. They're all deranged.

I wonder how many of this forum's non-military neo-cons would be willing to die to stop Iran? I'm assuming none. They're fine with others dying for it, though, so they can carry on with what they perceive to be a fashionable ideology.

 

Only after Tel Aviv is Destroyed would we move on Iran

Obama decides when and where and why to declare victory.

I am convinced that most politicians have NOTHING to say which is why they simply run their mouths.

 

There is a difference between spying, intel gathering, subversive measures and sending thousands of our boys over seas to die. Why dont you recognize this? Do you want to see full scale war with Iran?

We must learn the lessons of history.

 

I guess not enough Americans died and not enough tax money was spent in Iraq to please the GOP establishment.

If you want to fix our country and put America FIRST vote Ron Paul. If you want to put Israels interest before Americans then vote any of the other candidates and that includes Obama.

We already know only 1 candidate will work to prevent war.

So if killing Americans and spending billions is what you want for our future then by all means dont vote Ron Paul. If that is what you really want.

Except that it won't be a WAR.......NOT the UNDECLARED WAR we have been with IRAN for approx NINE YEARS where we lost 4000+ of our Finest.

We take out their NUKE INSTALLATIONS, and possibly their MILITARY INSTALLATIONS ......and ...... end of story.

These ISLAMOFASCIST SWINE will get the message and behave like little bags of feces ready to be dumped down the sewer ..... as they should be.

And you are demonstrating your usual incompetence. They are about to hang a dozen CIA agents who failed miserably to perform their wonders.

Next, you will be engaged in an endless proxy war in Iraq and Bahrain. And, in the fullness of time, Syria, perhaps Yemen.

Why would you need to in such a scenario? Israel would already have annihilated Iran with its own nuclear weapons.

 

How long should we wait?

I would think that it would be to the benefit of those wanting to wage war to just wait till some small nuke is detonated and then they can wage all the war they want.

It also seems, that waiting till a nuke is actually detonated would be what is needed for the libs and others to decide that taking out Iran's nuke capability is the right thing to do.

Hopefully, not too many tens of thousands of people will be killed in the first blast(and then potentially the nuke response) before we are driven to act.

 

I don't know why you would blame the GOP for a war with Iran. Even a (*)(*)(*) liberal Quaker president would eventually have to consider a military action against them. Especially if they keep up with their extremely hostile attitude and continue threatening our best ally.

True enough, but we'd have to hope that Ron Pauls backward social policies would be checked by the rest of the government. Because I like Ron Pauls notions of limited/no foreign intervention, I fear the return of segregated lunch counters. Ron Paul has time and time again demonstrated strongly racist opinions.
