If such a large majority agrees with gun control, what's stopping us?

That depends on how many are defending against the government. They do not have enough drones to kill us all.

If someone is against gun control and don't want to think why he wants gun control...so I give up.

If the purpose of gun control is to save lives and you don't know if it is better to save one life of 10...so I give up.

Wrong, I am not of those who believe that an AR-15 is going to defend you against a military-grade drone flown from hundreds of miles away, I am one of those who are willing to fight against dictators, even if the price will be my death.
If the majority of the people will say 'an AR-15 is not going to defend you against a military-grade drone flown from hundreds of miles away, so better is walk and chew gum" - this is a hope of politicians like Donald Trump.

It is important to remember that The Pollsters = MSM = Fake News
No one should ever presume that polls are accurate.

"Inside scoop on Silver’s forecasting model

“IN CASE I, NATE SILVER, DIE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO UPDATE THE FIVETHIRTYEIGHT ELECTIONS FORECAST MODEL” writes Tao Yang in McSweeney’s:

-Navigate to these coordinates (40.731014, -74.303500) on the night of a waxing moon. Bring a white goat. Once there you will see a keypad.”

-Enter the probability of a sample mean being two standard deviations from the population mean at a 95% confidence level.

-To enter the chamber where the model resides you must pass” three trials: shouting out certain baseball metrics; find four stone tablets with a scatterplot etched on each and press the one with a correlation of 0.6; and then find an old Compaq desktop in the final of three chambers, turn it on and boot up to PokerStars with a $10 bankroll you turn into $10,000 to enter the final chamber.

Finally, select “Update Model” and find an altar appearing behind you. “Chant the new poll results while performing a blood sacrifice with the white goat on the altar.”"
POYNTER.ORG, As election polling blows it, press self-flagellation begins, By: James Warren, November 10, 2016. (emphasis mine)
    https://www.poynter.org/newsletters...ling-blows-it-press-self-flagellation-begins/

Polling credibility improves marginally whenever pollsters feel compelled to report against their obvious bias.

everyone believes in "gun control" even if that means to someone, not dropping his firearm when he shoots or not leaving his gun unattended in a public place

the real question should be: do you support laws that only further reduce the rights and actions of law abiding citizens in the hope such restrictions will impede those who already break the laws against assault, armed robbery, murder and mayhem?

    Not hopes.

We have plenty of real world evidence that it works.

no you don't-not in the USA. you try to pretend that countries that had much lower crime rates (and far less porous borders) are safer due to their restrictions on honest citizens when in reality, none of those countries became measurably "safer" after they started banning gun ownership

Well, if you take a look at all of the "common sense" gun control legislation that Dems want to pass, those things would not have stopped most of our mass shootings. It's idiotic to think you can let dangerous people run around loose and keep guns out of their hands. Did it ever occur to you that these people don't follow laws?

The Founding Fathers did NOT see firearms as a means of personal defense.

That's because firearms of the time were AWFUL for personal defense. Firing a typical musket was a process that took (if you were REALLY fast) 15 seconds. An expert with the weapon could get off 4 rounds in a minute. Not exactly something that's going to do you a lot of good in a one on one fight.

What does "porous borders" have to do with what happened in Maine? What happened in Uvalde? What happened in Las Vegas? What happened in Connecticut?

what I am noting is that even if the gun banners managed to get their dream laws, it won't stop criminals from getting access to all sorts of firearms internationally. we know that based on what happens with the war on drugs. Does anyone with a brain think Paddock could have been stopped before he shot up Las Vegas given he owned two planes, had a valid pilot's license and 10 million in assets?

where does this absolutely unfounded nonsense come from. This is as hilarious as it is wrong. WTF do you think pistols were carried for back then? target shooting?

You do know that the musket were not the only firearm available in the time of our Founders right? Even pistols were available back then.

The irony in the title might be too subtle for some. Feel free to skip it and read the posts.

If you think that why a legislator supports a law is more important than what the law DOES, you are wise to give up.

Sounds like, in your mind, you can have fries with your Big Mac OR Coke, but not both. If you can only think in binary, again, giving up is a wise decision.

I'm sure you can think of other ways to give up your life that do not imply giving psychopaths unrestricted access to guns.

    If I could. But I can't. Therefore, it's not what I propose.

A minority wouldn't be that bad. It would have spared many parents quite a bit of grief.

So you are advocating for modern self defense weapons to be semi or fully automatic and be able to accept bayonet so ability to defend oneself is maximized?
