    Barring death or some obscure legal intervention, he will go on to face the failing, ailing Joe Biden again in November's election.

    As things stand, the pollsters and bookmakers suggest that this time he will win.

    Cue another great panic about the end of the free world as we know it. Left-liberal commentators are lining up to parade their despair. Political leaders and media experts gravely inform us that, in his second term, Trump will be ever more radical and dangerous. He'll turn America into a dictatorship and upend the international 'rules-based' order, we are told. 'All-out war is what Trump wants,' says Biden.

    Such dread-mongering might be more effective if we hadn't heard it all so often in the eight years since Donald Trump stunned the world by beating Hillary Clinton to the presidency in 2016.

    Less hysterical observers are inclined to ask: if Trump really is so uniquely appalling, why do tens of millions of voters want him back in the White House?”

    That is a very good question. Most know that Trump is no threat to our Republic or to democracy. They know that he avoided entanglements and foreign wars and was never interested in getting us into another one. People remember what we had with Trump pre Covid and were on track to recovering.

    The author is right. A second Trump term is much preferable to the alternative.

    People now see Trump had put the USA on the right track. All it took was the Biden Administration to make Trump look like a star -- regardless of the lying propaganda of the democrats and the media. Many voters now see they jumped from the frying pan to the fire.

    Ahhh, so true. I've experienced this same concept with girlfriends. Not realizing how good they were until they were gone and replaced with much, much worse.

    You could ask voters in the 2010s who still voted for Jim Trafficant.

    People like to vote "for a winner" in their minds. They will rationalize pretty much anything. Most of those who vote or will vote for Trump don't think Trump will not do what he is campaigning to do. They simply think that this is a political drama by Trump and not really what he will do. Business leaders in Davos, who have said "Trump isn't that bad" pretty much are more concerned with profits and think they will get higher profits under Trump than under Biden.

    However, to make that claim that Trump is not a threat to our democracy is simply saying Trump is not going to trash the US Constitution, get rid of news organizations who are critical of him, and not be above the law. Is that your belief or do you want Trump to do the things that he promises on the campaign trail, even if Trump is allegedly "joking?"

    The News media is greatly responsible for any appetite for Joe Biden. Democrats don't view accomplishments as anything to vote for. Everything the media says or does is to discredit Trump. When that goes on for 7 to 8 years it has an effect. Difference is, Republicans see through it all. That explains why there is a sharp contrast as to how Trump is viewed. How many were convinced the Steele Dossier was fact and the Hunter laptop was Russian disinformation? Those lies still have an effect.

    For the same reasons, despite his very successful presidency millions did not want Obama back in office.

    There are those who hold views that are destructive to our country and they want those views to be implemented. Trump is the embodiment of some of those views.

    Here's another question for you.

    Trump, himself, might not be a racist but why do so many racists want him to be President?

    Biden himself might not be a died in the wool Marxist but why do so many died in the wool Marxists want him to be President?

    I'm thinking Trump's popularity is in part also because the democrats have made such a show of getting him, no matter what.
    30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 investigations.
    And still no Trump perp walk, no jailhouse attire, no bars.
    But even after Trump was defeated democrats have pursued him in every possible way.
    He still gets demonized in the media daily.
    He is still called "wanna be dictator" and evil and corrupt, and all manner of things that are mostly based on propaganda, star chamber witch hunts and just plain mean lies.
    I'm thinking a lot of people have decided that if those dumbass New York Democrats are so obviously focused on destroying trump, no matter what it takes, then he must be a really good guy and we should vote for him.
    Either that, or his persecutors are incompetent.
