So go do something? Visit your local library and read a book. Volunteer at a local charity. Find a local historical site that you haven't visited in awhile Go visit an elderly relative or friend There- a bunch of suggestions. Go out and stop being bored.
I watch tornado videos on youtube when I'm bored. Can't say its the most healthy activity in the world. A young kid up at 1 am isn't healthy either. Get some sleep!
Perhaps you are one of the folks that can easily slip into REM. That's the part of sleep that is really needed and it doesn't last that long. You might consider some form of meditation to keep from getting bored. Maybe some avocation you enjoy, maybe just practicing on slowing down your mind for a while like meditation, Tai Chi, Yoga etc.
