The thing we were told by most would not happen after Roe was overturned.

I knew it would end up being shown otherwise. It would start small but if it worked for those first instances, you'd find it being repeated on a bigger scale.

To be fair, I've seen some right-wingers on this forum condemn these types of laws but it's still disheartening to find the extremists even attempting to do this.

Seems these extremists want to dictate life for everyone. I remember posting about this and those RWers claimed this was never going to happen.

The Supreme Court is probably the single most important institution we have at protecting our civilians from government overreach. The overturning of Roe v Wade/Casey v Planned Parenthood represents a massive failure at this basic duty. We are seeing time and time again the consequences of this decision, all in the name of protecting state governments... as if the rights of these state governments are more important than protecting the rights of the people who live within these states.

Lol why should taxpayers be on the hook to pay for travel aid for someone to get an abortion? Especially in a place taxpayers have said abortion is illegal?

What are you even talking about? Taxpayers are not paying for “travel aid” — the article is about private lawsuits to sue individuals that provide assistance (aid) to women seeing abortions.

    FFS — read the article

I remember myself and another asking for the exact codes that were being issued and you could not provide them. Just kept pointing to a story about them that says they exist but did not show what they were. We also said you could already sue someone over this exact thing, so we both knew this was ALREADY a thing.

So what are the new codes that were passed?

BS, I provided a color coded map of the areas. Feel free to continue making false accusations.

You provided a color coded map of WHERE they were being enacted, not a color coded map of WHAT the codes were. You still are being purposefully obtuse.

I wish this site stopped allowing such false accusations. It is one of main reasons why I refuse to donate to it.

why should taxpayers pay to enforce stopping people from donating for travel expenses for rape victims that need help getting an abortion due to Draconian Republican anti-abortion laws

I donated for a while but don’t like what it was allowed to turn into. Steady decline since the truth rule was abandoned

If I wouldn’t get an infraction I’d post your quotes. I left Texas over the original passage of this crap statewide(oh you forgot it was already a thing in Texas?). You can pretend you stated what these new codes are, but you didn’t. You posted a color coded map showing WHERE they were occurring. You can stop being purposefully obtuse at any time.

Although I live in Texas, I don't live in the counties this is being applied to. But here are my thoughts:

    1. I do think these laws violate the state constitution.
    2. However, these laws are mostly symbolic in very red counties.
    3. Finally, these laws really cannot be enforced. Do patrol officers stop every vehicle that has a female on board between the ages of 13 and 45? I think not.

I am not sure how a locality, state, or the federal government can make a law that prohibits an individual from seeking medical care.

Can the US stop a citizen from flying to Germany for a medical procedure that is not necessarily sanctioned in the US, but is legal in Germany?

The law in question has nothing to do with taxpayer funds. It prohibits private individuals from paying for someone in Lubbock to travel outside of Texas to receive an abortion. Does that change your view?

Very strange law. I don't quite understand how it:

    A. Works
    B. Is allowed
    C. Why it's a "private lawsuit" thingy …. like who would bring the case to court?

It's enforced the same way their anti-abortion law was. It's not criminal, it's civil. They made it legal for anybody to sue anyone else that may be aiding someone in getting an out-of-state abortion.

I believe the Texas anti-abortion law is Unconstitutional and unenforceable, but it's having a negative impact with higher infant mortality rates going up.

It does. Personally I don’t care what they do. Most of the people having abortions are liberal so I’m all for it.

Which shows not too much and still doesn’t make up for you posting a where instead of a what as asked.
