Civil unrest is growing in Europe. And the fragile EU consensus is fracturing as inflation and energy shortages ravage their economies.

Meanwhile, the Russians have called up 300,000 reservists and escalated their attacks on western Ukraine.

NATO tried to break Russia. Instead, they may have broken NATO.

I think we are about to see significant changes in energy policy across the globe due to the actions of Russia followed by what SA and opec are doing now.

    Hopefully for the better.

This is absolutely devastating developed nations now but it will likely devastate Russia for many generations to come.

The European states are basically vassal states to the US. With all their silly BS sanctions against Russia they have shot themselves in the foot.

Politicians think they can do away with energy and raise prices on everything in the process with zero consequences and they’re dead wrong

Your conclusion does not follow from what precedes it. Russia is in even rougher economic shape and this will only get worse for them, and their new conscripts have no desire and little to no training to go fight in Ukraine.

Putin tried to break NATO, but instead he has broken his own regime.

Tell me — what policy do you believe your team will enact that will magically solve all the worlds issues?

Russia actually single handidly validated the reason their still needs to be a NATO as well as shown the western world that they cannot be trusted with important trade.

Anyone protesting about Russia are idiots. Their is no going back to Russian energy.

They won’t be hostile to energy. They will produce energy like they did while they were in office that at one point caused negative oil costs.

there isn’t a single thing that oil does not touch. Not one. When they have control over the energy department again (once Biden leaves) they will bring down costs for everyone

Negative oil costs were because of supply and demand during COVID. I don’t see that happening again.

I am asking for specific policy that they will enact or repeal

Wishful thinking....Hungary just ratified Swe/Fin bid for NATO....just Turkey remains.....it's a done deal.

Mafialand will need to expend $$$trillions more now on defence of 700 miles more of hostile territory.....$$$ that it doesn't have.

The west is in the middle of committing collective suicide. Liberals and fake conservatives have conspired together to turn the west into a hollowed out shell, a consumerist wasteland full of dullards and conformist slobs. America's founders would puke their guts out if they could see what has become of this country.

oil. natural gas. Energy independence. America had energy independence under Trump, but Democrat Politicians want socialism. With Socialism comes their massivie inflation, higher taxes, and massive gas prices.

Welcome to their Socialist Democrat dream of California. so many homeless around, and people crapping outside with public nudity.

OPEC is untouchable. They are one of the major players in human affairs generally. There's about as much chance of them being curtailed as the Bank of International Settlements.

And the USA will get back to "energy independence" too once Biden's war on the US oil industry ends.

Biden's war will not end though .. and Trump was not able to (or did not) reverse the damage in one term .. done by the previous 8 years .. now Biden with another 4 years of destruction .. and you going to hope to get a Red President in 2024 .... .. and keep Red in for long enough (more than one term) to start to put things on the right path.

That said .. US is mostly energy "independent" for all intensive purposes already... Despite Biden's war... The problem with Biden's war is that his policy of limiting / decreasing domestic production hurts us economically but is also horrible for the Environment.. "Not im My Back Yard - Dump it in the Ocean" environmental Policy which seeks to increase Ocean Pollution and CO2 emissions at the same time.

Has it occurred to you that at least half a billion people at least won't be able to buy a car powered by fossil fuels after 2035?
Your market will be tiny in 30 years when all the second hand vehicles will be scrapped.
Your oil business is in fast decline.

When only 1 in six people will be able to afford that EV, the laws will change. EV's are for rich people but there are more middle ans low income people that vote. Many other things like plastic are made of oil too. Can you imagine a world without iPhones, computers, bottles, and everything else made of plastic?
