I just spent a week helping my son move out of his apartment in Kansas. I knew that my LTC was accepted there and that they also have Constitutional carry. What I didn't know was what was the required sign to prevent me from carrying in a business, what are the places I cannot carry regardless of signs, and whether or not Kansas had a castle doctrine or stand your ground law. I muddled through for the week and figured it out. I do have one source of information I use and it had the basics after I looked for a few minutes. What sources do you use when you travel to different states? Here is mine.

Usually, find what I need with a Google search.

Fun fact: My OH CCW permit is good in IL, so long as do not leave my car.

Yeah, here in Illinois; we've only had CCW for a few years. We're still in the idiot, developing period. The Democrats are still dealing with the shock of us psychotic gun lovers not going out and shooting up the streets every Saturday night; it's still only the bangers that are doing that.

    Sure... Officer stops you..

You inform the officer you have a CCP and a gun on you.
Officer, says please step out of the car...oops.

Mulvane. My kid is stationed at McConnell and needed help moving out of his apartment for a deployment.

Some States have a Duty to inform as far as concealed carry, some States do not.
A better scenario is when you can inform an Officer of LE standing under LEOSA and present credentials thereby nipping many potential problems in the bud.
It also sets the tone for Proffesional courtesy between LEOs.

    Hint;
Never blurt out you have CCW or a Gun, produce your Driver's license and CCW together, and hand them to the Officer, permit on top, then inform the Officer of your permit for CCW.......
Try not to say: I have a Gun........

Cannot carry in most federal buildings and some state buildings and property. Most private buildings it is a courtesy that can result in trespassing charges if asked and refuse to leave. State laws ares different per state.

Here in Indiana we have the right to carry on private property parking lots (in the vehicle) that do not allow carry. We have the right to carry just about anywhere except as stated above. We have a four year renewable carry and lifetime carry license. Mine and my daughters is lifetime.

She can field strip an AR-15 quicker than I can as she is a former Marine. That always impressed her dates.

I did not get the obvious humor, obviously, as good as it was, it was not obvious to me, being somewhat dense and oblivious to much humor many times.

I can say this, working U.C. and suddenly surprised by Uniformed Uniformed Plods, the real trick was to avoid getting shot and not spoil ones cover, so humor often was the casualty under those circumstances.

Understood.... what passes for humor on the left is an Ode to the Black Knight, the stuff of trolls... hard to sift through the absurdity sometimes to normal humor.

Strangely delicious... I am given to understand John Cleese is to tour later this year doing a stage version of the Holy Grail.... they should tune in here for auditions or maybe that is what we have been witnessing.

Should have read: Uninformed Uniformed Plods......
Could be hazardous to a U.C.O.s life........

One of the things I find mindless bureaucratic, really more obstructionist than anything else, is there are those that had thousands of hours both training with guns, imbedded for years with gun safety, and knowledge of gun law, yet are still required to take, and expend for training as with Illinois 16hr req. years ago when I got my first CCP, I not only knew more than my instructor, and helped him with his class both in classroom and on the range, shot better than anyone there including him, but repaired his carry gun... and paid for it. At the time I owned some 60 firearms. Such are laws drafted by those knowing nothing about guns but simply interested in asserting they passed a law with stringent requirements.
