they are not real studies imo

    https://www.bhf.org.uk/informations...s/behind-the-headlines/meat-and-heart-disease

"This MR study demonstrated no significant causal relationships between red/processed meat intake and the risk of the four CVD outcomes examined. Further investigation is warranted to confirm these findings."

in fact it's the high carbs people eat with meat causing the issues, remove the carbs and what happens

"The Ketogenic Diet and Cardiovascular Diseases"

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10421332/

"A potential advantage of the ketogenic diet is the strong anti-inflammatory effect that interacts with the cardioprotective properties."

"A number of these factors contribute to the overall cardioprotective potential of the ketogenic diet in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This is confirmed by an increasing number of recent scientific studies."

one thing to add, is the cholesterol theory is changing

seed oils have a fake cholesterol and that seems to be the real culprit, some think now

From your link, they seem to be refuting an American study that said the following....

The researchers, from Northwestern and Cornell universities, also found that a higher intake of processed meat or unprocessed red meat, but not poultry or fish, was associated with a small increased risk of early death.

Specifically, they found that eating two servings a week of processed meat was linked to a 7 per cent higher risk of heart and circulatory diseases, compared to eating none at all.

The link cites a British study that says the American 4 oz servings are too big. Meateaters who I know usually eat a lot more than 4 ounces (120 Grams). This British study states that only 70 grams of red or processed meat per day. One small McDonalds hamburger is 45 grams. So two McDonalds hamburgers, with no other red meat for the day, and your over the healthy quota.

yep, those studies are flawed imo and they do not take into account the bun and fries as I mentioned before - it now seems to be the excess carbs and seed oils causing all the issues

A non-US-American view: No one of the producers of "meat alternatives" would say, that they are selling fake meat. They sell it as the better alternative to meat. There is no need to cheat.

And it sells well. One of the biggest German meat and sausage butcheries, nowadays more than 2/3 of their products are vegan.

Not upset one bit. Seems you might be projecting. I’m fine with the law. I just find it odd there are people who somehow don’t know the difference between real meat and fake meat when it’s already painfully obvious.

Plant sap or snake venom is also a milk and is in the definition of "milk". Ever heard of milking a snake?

You do realise that what you are suggesting in this thread would be a terrible marketing campaign to their main customers who want to avoid dairy products? Perhaps meat eaters struggle to read and are not as bright as non-meat eaters?

but the Iowa law also addresses lab grown meat.... I think the law is a goof one

can we call lab grown meat "VEGAN"

If that's what you think then there's not much I can do to help you understand things. Yikes.

I recently saw a report on oat milk. I don't know who the sponsors were but the highlight of the study was stating that oat milk is high in sugar. The study failed to mention that dairy milk has a higher sugar content!

Nope. You're being disingenuous to claim such. The only other explanation is you're thoroughly confused.

you seem to be the one being disingenuous

I just want to have things clearly labeled, if they are already doing i, good job, if not, they need to do better

we all have a right to know what we are eating...

In what way am I being disingenuous? It's not my fault I can see the difference between real eggs and PLANT BASED eggs and you somehow can't. It's not my fault I can see the difference between MILK and ALMOND milk and you someone can't. It's not my fault I can see the difference between MEAT and FAKE MEAT and you somehow can't. I hope you get the labeling you need to help you out.

never said I could not, you seem to be the one having issues with the law that requires truth in advertising

can we call lab grown meat "VEGAN MEAT"?

now it is harder to tell a GMO fruit or vegetable from a non-GMO

pink slime, they called it lean finely textured beef on the labels

Doesn’t seem so based on your posts. So if you have no trouble understanding the difference then why are you so vehement about the law?
Nope. I’ve stated several times I have no problem with the law. My ONLY issue has been that I’m amazes there are people who don’t know the difference between real meat and fake meat.
Well, vegan means food not derived from animals. If it’s grown in a lab where no animal products are used then sure…call it VEGAN MEAT. The “VEGAN” part is what tells the consumer it’s not meat from an animal.

many things corps do that you don't know, you may think you do, I personally like laws that allow the consumer to better understand what they are eating

it would still be derived from Animal cells, just grown in a lab, would vegans want to know the truth?
