That couldn't be done ,to deny Britian,USA,Israel, the 3 colonial, imperialistic powers of Nuclear devices, would be unfair, how could they be expected to oppress other nations, as a clear reminder, since 1945 that Imperial power of America have succeeded in either by covert or overt operations, overthrown the wishes of at least 72 countries, colonialism is a good paying criminal act,and Britian has centuries of experience at this oppression, and are now teaching the USA, and they ,who on the insistance of their masters , Zionist Israel must conform to their demands, and subjugate these smaller nasty little countries.

Well maybe the good professor Benjamin will give us his definition for fascism so that we might have a better understanding of why Islam and it are contradictory rather than sympatico?

So you haven't read it? If you had of read it, you would have grasped that your IAEA quotes are guff. The article outlines and explains why it is guff and propaganda. Ignorance is bliss as far as you are concerned.

True. The problem is that those activities have no purpose other than to develop a nuclear weapon. When Iran becomes a nuclear weapons state the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is over. That's the price that Iranian apologists on the left will pay. There will be no going back. A nightmare world will be born. And you on the left will have been the midwives.

Given his position, I put a far greater credence on his understanding of the subject matter than a racist fake doc.

It's a fact. If pointing out a truth gets me banned then so be it.

    Comprehension problems?

What part of: "There is no sense in which jihadists embrace fascist ideology as it was developed by Mussolini or ANYONE ELSE WHO WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TERM" do you not understand? Irrespective of the specific definition of fascism used, the epithet cannot be attributed to Islamic states. Iran is a case in point. Anyone even faintly familiar with the socio-economic and historical characteristics of fascism would dismiss the accusation and characterization of Iran as a fascist state as bogus.

As part of the US of Aipac's propaganda offensive, the Iranian president is frequently compared to Hitler. But Ahmadinejad differs from Hitler on a number of major grounds.

To begin with, Ahmadinejad is known as a grassroots leader or fighter, not an agent or collaborator of big business, as would be the case with fascist or fascistic figures and characters. Indeed, he came to power by challenging and running against the presidential candidate of big business, whereas fascist leaders like Hitler or Mussolini were promoted by big business.

Second, Hitler represented an expansionist imperial power. By contrast, Ahmadinejad (and the Iranian government in general) represent an anti-imperialist challenge or force in the Middle East that harbors no expansionist ambitions or territorial claims.

Third, Hitler was an unrivaled and unchallenged dictator. He had complete monopoly of power; not only commanding the German armed forces, but also controlling all the branches of government and, indeed, the entire German society. By contrast, Ahmadinejad is not a dictator; he is an elected president without much power. The real power rests with the “Supreme Leader,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is commander in chief of all of Iran's armed forces. Khamenei has the final say on all major foreign policy issues.

Ahmadinejad is also constantly and relentlessly challenged by both the parliament and the Judiciary. For example, the legislature rejected more than two-thirds of his recommendations for ministers, which meant that it took nearly a year before his cabinet was fully staffed.

As intelligent and educated individuals, Lieberman, Podhoretz, Netanyahu and their neoconservative cohorts must certainly be aware of these glaring differences between Hitler and Ahmadinejad, or between today’s Iran and the late 1930s Nazi Germany.

So, why are they disregarding such obvious differences and deliberately obfuscating the historic characteristics of fascism?

The answer is clear: they want to justify another war of aggression, a military strike against Iran.

How can you prove there is no nuclear weapons program since iran does not allow complete and transparent inspections?

Actually, what I see from yours' and a few other muslim fascist apologist's posts defending iran is spin and propaganda nonsense.

You must be confusing Iran with Israel. The former is a signatory to the nuclear NPT, is regularly inspected by the IAEA and acts in good faith. The latter refuses to sign and denies inspections. The former has no nuclear weapons, the latter, hundreds.

I've already explained that muslim/fascist is an oxymoron. Try to keep up. It's difficult enough as it is to educate the uneducated, without having to repeat myself...And to think I do it all for free. You dumb yanks ought to be grateful.

Do you leftists value the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty? Do you realize that it dies as soon as Iran acquires nuclear weapons? Doesn't that bother you?

For starters, I don't recognize your idiotic party-political partisan bullcrap. Epithets like 'Leftist' and 'Rightist' are absurd and childish in the context of single-ideological states where virtually identical political parties each compete for the reins of power. Second, there is no evidence that Iran intends to develop nuclear weapons so your assertion is moot.

I have a question that you can't answer honestly. Why has Iran enriched fifty kilograms of uranium to the 20% level when commercial reactors only require HEU enriched to the 4% level?

No he didn't. Snake had no answer when I told him that fifty kilograms of HEU at 20% is seven years worth of fuel for a medical reactor. And he was silent when I pointed out the west offered to pay for this medical enrichment of Iranian uranium on Russian soil. You have no answer when confronted with these facts. These facts undercut your position.

IIRC, enriching to the 20% level is legal under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. So, what's your problem with that?

Are you paid to write propaganda lies on this forum?

This post is such pure garbage I am not even going to bother bringing links to the contrary, none are needed.

To think you accuse others of being "dumb" after posting it is shocking and laughable.

Even further, why does iran have a heavy-water reactor?

These are used to build plutonium bombs, and have no purpose with respect to energy production.

You have to remember, there are lots of racist, jew-hating trash on this forum masquerading as posters, so you're just not going to get rational answers to your questions.

The NPT has a drafting flaw that Iran is exploiting. It allows the development of nuclear weapons up until the fissile material is placed inside the warhead. Because of this flaw the Iranians, and the North Koreans, have been able to pursue a nuclear weapons program lawfully in keeping with the letter of the law, but in violation of the spirit of non-proliferation.

It takes 20 kilograms of uranium enriched to the 90% level to have enough fissile material to build one bomb. Enriching uranium up to 20% is most of the way to developing bomb grade HEU.

Iran says it has only peaceful intentions with its nuclear industry. But commercial use only requires enrichment to the 4% level. Iran has one medical reactor supplied by America during the reign of the Shah. A medical reactor for research purposes requires HEU at 20%, but the IAEA report says that Iran has enough of such HEU to last for seven years. But the Iranians are continuing to enrich uranium to at least the 20% level.

If Iran has enough HEU at 20% to last for seven years, then why is it continuing to enrich uranium at that level? Imo the reason is because Iran needs more HEU in order to develop more than one bomb.

I understand that Iran is in technical compliance with the NPT except for its disclosure obligations. But this isn't a court of law. Nations do not judge their safety based on legalisms.

I do not advise military action against Iran. However, the apologists for the Iranian nuclear weapons program must realize that there will be a terrible price to pay when Iran goes nuclear. Their beloved NPT will have been successfully gamed by Iran. That means that the Treaty will become irrelevant. As far as some people, including myself, are concerned the NPT will no longer be in effect on a de facto basis.

Sometimes we want to prevent something from happening without realizing that we that there are consequences that can't be foreseen. Like the birth of a nightmare world.

Venezuela has given Iran the right to establish military bases on Venezuelan soil. The only reason for such bases is to deploy ballistic missiles aimed at the US. That's a pretty aggressive thing to do.

Now you might say that the US has bases near Iran and that fair is fair. In response I would remind you that you are an American. One should never allow American lives to be endangered by some amorphous sense of fair play.

Because light water reactors don't produce bomb grade fissile material.

    http://www.armscontrol.org/pressroom/2006/20061109_Einhorn

"It is not surprising that Iran’s desire to buy a large heavy-water reactor set off alarm bells. Before centrifuge technology for enriching uranium became available from the black market network of Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, the plutonium route using heavy-water reactors was the dependable choice for aspiring nuclear-weapon states."

If iran were only seeking power production, they'd only have built a light-water reactor.
