Is DeSantis an introvert?

Watching some footage from the GOP debates, it appears to me that DeSantis always seems to be uncomfortable on the debate stage, he appears to be nervous, anxious and unsure of himself. This was most evident when he had to look left and right to see who was raising their hand when asked whether they would support Trump as the GOP candidate, before raising his own hand.

Being an introvert myself, who had to work long and hard to overcome this personality trait in public appearances, I think the reason behind this is that DeSantis is an introvert. He is looking for approval from others, who are more powerful, and he is trying to project a persona that he is not. Maybe that's why is going above and beyond trying to gain the "tough guy" image, for example in his "stone-cold dead" shooting comment about drug traffickers.

I don't think DeSantis really has the personality traits for a successful politician, but he definitely has the ambition. The ambition is driving him to use any means to be successful, probably to compensate for his perceived lack of self worth. And that's what makes him so dangerous.

Okay, enough of my amateur internet psycho analysis, please chime in.

As opposed to having a firm stance on issues and standing by them, he is always looking to figure out what people want to hear, and by doing so is comes across as an appeaser, which is what populists are. And he is not a natural charmer or Type A+ personality, like Reagan, Clinton and most other presidents have been. People who know him probably consider him annoying and someone who has a need to prove himself at all times.

DeSantis has a hard time smiling--due to his facial features/muscles. His face looks like he is in pain, or he has been caught doing something wrong. But he is extremely intelligent, lots of common sense, and gets the job done by making the right decisions when problems arise. His record proves that. He would make a great president but he has an uphill battle because he's not a slick politician. His type is needed at this time in our country.

Except for his utter disgust for the constitution that rules our country, you mean?

Meatball Ron is a CONTROL FREAK who is running a Pay-to-Play scam inside the already CORRUPT excuse for a political party.

He will SELL OUT We the People in a heartbeat if it will ENABLE him to sit in the Oval office.

We have all seen how he was turned FL into a Xtofascist DUMPSTER FIRE.

He will do the same and far WORSE if he ever ends up in the Whitehouse.

Desantos is not that difficult to figure out..

he is the perfect example of the egomaniac with an inferiority complex.

he barely beat a black , gay , drug addict to win the governors seat the first time

and trump is correct, without his endorsement, Desantos is coaching a little league team somewhere.

Desantos is the governor of a state that has a super majority GOP status..he has been played like a fiddle by the GOP in Florida

but on the campaign trail, he talks about what "HE" has accomplished in florida. when in fact desantos is just a pawn in the GOP party of florida

deep down, Desantos knows he is an idiot ...but his ego and the GOP keep those thoughts in check

Maybe having only extroverts in politics isnt the best thing. Lets mix it up a bit. Diversity is a strength.

Agreed, let's include lots of POC and LBGTQ and mothers and teachers and librarians and minimum wage earners.

Oh, I am not doubting that he is intelligent. However, his ambition is superceding his intelligence, which is why his decisions are always based on what's best for his personal gain. Recently, this means flip-flopping between supporting Trump, to pander to the MAGA crowd, or attacking Trump, to make his own case, for which the MAGA crowd will hate him. It's being between a rock and a hard place.

In any case, I doubt that the MAGA crowd, who love Trump's personality, would actually go for DeSantis, once they get to know him better (other than how he is portrayed on Fox News) and figure out that he has the personality of a dead fish.

I'm afraid that they will not get to know him better. He is positioned as Trump Lite and if Trump cannot run, he will be their fall back.

As for whether or not he is an introvert - I don't know. And I don't really care (no offence @Quantum Nerd). His inability or lack of comfort when addressing crowds is not something upon which I would base my vote. I simply couldn't vote for a hate filled little man.

Your post seems to be a lot of navel gazing and mind-reading, using DeSantis as an excuse to be self-referential. I learned nothing about DeSantis from your post.

Do you have a problem with the US Military killing traffickers, designated as terrorists, who are murdering Americans by poisoning them with fentanyl?

As a German by birth, who has wittnessed people being killed trying to cross the fence and wall around East-Germany, yes, I am very opposed to people being killed by the government at borders without due process. That's something that communist or totalitarian states do. Do you want the US to be llike those totalitarian states, like former East Germany?

DeSantis is not a good debater.
He is a good governor and if he is the nominee I can vote for him.
That's significant because the last two elections I voted against Clinton and then Biden.

I don't believe he was the one that tried to force any private employer with 100 or more employees to give their employees an ultimatum about the vaccine or eat the cost of weekly testing.

Drug traffickers are not murdering Americans with fentanyl because drug traffickers are not forcing Americans to take drugs. They are meeting the EXISTING DESIRE of Americans to USE drugs.

If drug traffickers are killing Americans with fentanyl, gun manufacturers are killing Americans with guns. And I KNOW you don't believe that, and neither do I. But that's what your logic would imply.

EDIT: I'm not defending drug traffickers and they certainly kill people for real in other ways. Lots of people. But they aren't the ones killing Americans with drugs. Americans are doing that all on their own.

This doesn't take into account children poisoned by fentanyl or first responders or other people of all ages coming into contact with the drug unwittingly.

Still the fault of those who had the drugs. I'm certainly not saying drug traffickers should get a pass, and I'm not even opposed to lobbing some missiles into their backyards, but I don't need to believe they are responsible for Americans loving their drugs despite all the extremely well-known risks in order to believe they are bad people.

And thereagain, that's no different than kids and first responders who get killed by guns. That's not the fault of the gun manufacturers or gun sellers, it's the fault of those who had or used them.
