No Army eats well, and this is done on purpose. Keep your boys a bit hungry and keep them angry killing machines.

 

I was in the US military and there were always those that complain about the food because it was not like mothers. In my case, that was a good thing and I loved the food.

 

A soldier needs 2kg bread, 1 kg meat + 1.5 L milk per day.

and 3 bowls soup.

 

The Russian military food today looks okay to me. See no problem with that.
Americans especially should be happy, their food is top notch.

My uncle who served in JNA later Bosnian Serb Army told me that during the war they ate processed pigs fat(lardo) with bread and paprika as flavour. Keeps your stomach full and you can go a whole day on that but it's not really that good

I've tasted it couple a times with chopped peppers and onion and I have to say it's not that bad, but I can imagine eating it every day.



Funny thing is that today you can have this "dish" served in high quality Italian Restaurants.


I can just imagine what the Bosnian Muslims ate Poor fellas had to say on vegetable and fruit diet because of no no for pork.
