    Don't "huh" me:

None of the Roman Empirors fit that, nobody on earth ever has.

"All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast..." except believers.

So you think that John of Patmos was writing to the 7 churches about events thousands of years in the future concerning countries that didn't exist and the congregation would NEVER hear about?

Beast, Anti-christ, Whore of Babylon ALL refer to Rome..

Domitian referred to himself as the Savior.. as did other emperors before him.. He demanded to be worshipped on pain of death.. It was the cult of the Emperor..

And, you couldn't buy or sell unless you got a writ.. a piece of paper from Rome that confirmed you worshipped the Emperor and sacrificed to the Emperor.

The closest thing that comes to the "Whore of Babylon," being something other than a woman giving herself to a man who throws a piece of silver in her lap at the temple in an ancient "opening ceremony," is the Rome Treaty (ICC) where we would have no veto power, where Kerry wanted only some protections from politically motivated prosecutions, and even that Rome Treaty does not allow for total power to wage war or have dominion "over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

For the Anti-christ must have power over all nations, something like a United Nations (of tyrants too) Secretary General with no veto power by any nation. See those who complain about our veto power, over Israel's destruction.

Certainly the writers at the time knew there were other nations other than Rome and other tongues other than Latin. No Roman Emperor ever had power over all nations or tongues, like the Chinese tongue...

It is an allegory against absolute tyranny, not a demand that it must be Rome that is the center of the controversy.

The Jewish religion only allows for one Nation, in the promised land, not every land. Only one religion believes that it's nation, with it's taxes, owns rights to the entire Earth to dominate it under absolute tyranny of one man, hence the succession controversy between the two dominate sects; and it just so happens that the writers of Revelations and all of the New Testament knew exactly where the temple of God was, that the Anti-christ must stand in to proclaim himself God, and it just happens that Temple Mount is owned by that religion that apparently must accept the Anti-christ is God. And since that would require him to be a Black Stone Idolater to talks to rocks and trees to find Jews to kill, according to their Hadith, and to have power over all Nations and tongues, it ain't Obama, yet.

Why is it a book that is meant as humanities guide to living is so confusing that no two people even understand what it means?
Seems it shouldn't be that way, if it's meant as a means to salvation.

Look at a map of the ancient Roman Empire.. They did have power over the known world.

John of Patmos was writing to the seven churches.. He didn't know that China existed..

I guess I am stunned that you have bought into the Scofield heresies.

Prophesy is not meant as a means to salvation, the Golden Rule is. And a Golden Rule does not work with any tyranny over all nations...

Prophesy is not meant to be understood by everyone, even the Bible tends to say it many times. Not everyone can interpet dreams.

Even the Fundamentalist Baptist Madrassa taught that prophesy too easy to understand had the effect of subconsciously making it happen. People obviously make choices based upon what they think is prophesy.

Take a look at "The Late Great Planet Earth" by Hal Lindsey today and see what is wrong with it.

Logically, since two people cannot agree, such a prophesy about a super tyrant could be considered an allegory showing that with such tyranny you have lying, terrorism, and every manifestation of evil by "freedom fighters" seeking their own preferred cultural states. Arguments can easily be made that the pressure of multiculturalism causes more virulent fundamentalism, then you wind up with a cycle of terror and emegency laws or Homeland Security turning on its own people.

One State wants a Turkey as a state bird another wants another wants a pork barbecue holiday, and another wants no serving of the other white meat.

Naturally the human race sought diversity, and yet some think tyranny or a One World Republic is the answer. To maintain the multicultural One World Republic, all sorts of emergency laws would be necessary along with persecution.

Look at the logic; if Rome had power over the known world, then why worry about a bigger tyrant or even think there could be one bigger one than the emperor of the known world?

There is nothing more abominable to the Jew or the Muslim than the tyrant setting himself up as God in the Temple or their "Holy" Mosque. Not all religions have a Temple or box to put their gods in. For some God needs no box, they could just as easily live under a Rome, rendering unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and worship and pray in a closet or know their God is with them on another planet.

Interpretations of Prophesy is dangerous, a person could take anything and twist it to fit current circumstances, and instead of getting the overall point that one should be loving of their neighbor and letting them have the Polytheistic State Of Egypt free from domination by the Jew...we have desires to make all nations submit to one God or cultural state or one man's idea of social and economic justice...

    Example:

    The Super Tyrant given power over all nations will go to the Temple of God and proclaim himself God, that Temple in context of what they at the time would have though its location to be obviously was the Temple Mount, it is owned by the Muslims now, so since the judgment day or last day cannot come until Muslims commit genocide;

"The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim)." http://www.thejerusalemfund.org/www.thejerusalemfund.org/carryover/documents/charter.html

    Therefore, maybe proclaiming himself God is an allegory in keeping with this verse;

    "[8.17] So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them, and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy), but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing." "AL-ANFAL (SPOILS OF WAR, BOOTY)";

Consequently, the Anti-Christ must be a Moslem.

Is Hal Lindsey now going to rewrite the book? Maybe with "Barry" as the Anti-Christ?

I say again, Obama is not the Anti-Christ. When he becomes that One World tyrant, killing off the Jews, get back with me.

I could make up something claiming the Flat Tax, no Death Tax on the Aristocracy, Tea Party fits the narrative of being the Anti-Christ of the Tea Party of Jefferson and the supporter Thomas Paine who supported progressive taxes to lesson the effects of the inequity of property or primogeniture. Wouldn't a Liberal Democrat prefer that one?

People are always going to be divided, if they are free and have free speech, that is why we have States, even one for the Polytheistic whores at the Bunny Ranch..., and just because the Jews were not taken in by the whores during a drought does not mean they must dominate them or accept them into their State where they can sit in the Temple Garden and go with the first man to throw silver in their lap. The Moslems did not like the Idolaters clapping and singing outside their Kibble and Bits monotheistic Black Stone Idol of what Monk-Eye (on some other boards) calls the moon god cult, can you blame them for that? It is called free speech, get used to it.

Can you call this prophesy, or is it simply logic?:

"All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests.

However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." (Washington's Farewell Address 1796) http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/washing.asp

If people cannot get that Christians should not be terrorists, hiding a sword under their cloak, or that Constantine was just as much an Anti-Christ as Nero, they should probably never touch Revelations, they should just stick with the words of Jesus and the Golden Rule.

I would like to think that we are not bound or fated to fail to get along, individually or as separate nations with our own preferred cultural states, that maybe mankind can become a spacefaring race without threatening the Cherokee on planet P3X-666 with a trail of tears to Planet PFC-90210. That is if Obama does not kill our Space program...

During my weekly meditation last night I talked to the Creator of the universe and all therein. I asked about my doubts that Jesus is leading the christians in the right direction to which God replied with one of his parables. I deciphered it to be an answer with a question. "Have you ever worked with the boss's son who thinks that he know everything?" I asked if Jesus was the "Son of God?" to which the answer came, "All living things are from my will."

I asked about Obama being the anti-christ and was told that Obama is not only the anti-christ but anti - - - at which point I lost concentration and realized that my grandson was standing on my belly.

I do not believe a man would have to literally claim that he is God to meet the bolded requirement. Perpetuating the belief that there is no higher power than man and then offering to lead the secular world to peace and salvation would suffice. That would in effect be making himself into God, exalting himself above all that is called God, and leading men away from God.

    Sounds logical, you are right.

Any absolute tyranny would probably fit "exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped," would even fit an atheist.

So the sentence could be reworded to "Must exalt himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped."

An atheist tyrant so occupying such Temples would fit the defintion of "perdition":

"Entire loss; utter destruction; ruin. [1913 Webster]" say of all freedom of religion.

"(religion) (*)(*)(*)(*)ation; the utter loss of the soul, or of final happiness in a future state; future misery or eternal death. [1913 Webster]"

Anyone that exalted himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, is like proclaiming himself God, knows everything, even if that god believes in no God or soul.

Pretty much have to have been there at the Big Bang to say there was no God. I do not even think Hawking goes so far as to say there could be no God, but I have not bought his latest book (almost got it other day but got three books by Ursula K. Le Guin instead and the ones of the late Robert Jordan Wheel of Time I missed).

That sounds almost as bad as the cat god who sucks the soul out of your mouth while you sleep, or who attacks your toes when they wiggle.

Grandpa told the FDR man he was nuts when he was told that he would get paid to turn under his crops. That was probably when he took the picture of FDR off the mantle over the fireplace.

A lot of stuff for a simple question.
Why is the more than 1 christian religion? How do you know yours is the right one? I know, you believe it. So does everyone else.

Short answer, everyone is different, it is just being human.

Can you really know yours is the right one for everyone and not be proud?

All you can really know, it is the right one for you; and then if you have this little thing called empathy you might have to consider that one and maybe someone else's religion is not the right thing for others. Definately do not want to lie to the little kiddies when being politically correct; if it needs some mud thrown on it, throw some mud.

    *****

The most horrible thing is believing a god has a part in hardening people's hearts and then instead of love conquers all kills apostates, because the land is proudly god's land and "none can purchase or sell even one metre thereof."

Now if you confront some on something with pure logic, that might reject the perfect communcations and orders of the prophet, you are proud and haughty. Basically the prideful slayers of apostates (who will not perfectly bow down with those who bow down to be seen of men) cannot smell their own stink. Ooh, dude doesn't want to perfectly bow down, must be a disease of the heart that needs Shaitan's bellows to purify the rightous.

There are some things we can easily see are right and wrong, but logic always has a skeptic; love's skeptic sees the only way to salvation is a perfect art of war: Trojan Horse peacefully, kill apostates, and then use the repelling or expelling of the fifth column as excuses for more land grabs until all religion is for the god's religion.

I want to live--I have loved unbelievers, I do not want them to die because they think the Green horsie is pretty, but later they might want to paint it pink--I know others do too, that is how I know mine is better than theirs.

    *****

Those who believe they have all the answers, from the point of view of government with a Golden Rule applied, if they insist that all States believe their way, it is arrogant (insolently proud).

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud."
    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1 Corinthians+13&version=NIV

Freedom of Speech, and Freedom of Religion, is not proud.

Still though some religions eat people and get Kuru--some throw babies into the arms of the Idol, threaten others as their land they conquered or was allowed to till is always their religion's land for ever as apostates can be killed for it so says their Black Stone Idolatrous prophet's Hadith, spread disease with Whore like "opening ceremonies," like gag me with a spoon one culture I read about had uncles do it before they could marry, like BraveHeart and the rights of the lord, and one day Doctor Death will don a robe with moons and stars on it--so not all States can have Freedom of Religion. Insisting that all states have Whores of Babylon, because that is the Libertarian right, is arrogant. A proud bigot demands Gay marriage as a human right but not Bisexual marriage consisting of a straight man and a bisexual woman and a bisexual woman...; oh, they argue that there is a difference, the bisexual woman can choose to be straight or a Lesbean, so their rights are not violated. "Well, isn't that Special?"

Choosing a social contract is not arrogant, making every State have the same one is. The Anti-Christ must be arrogant, and devoid of love.

I've always had a great deal of trouble wrapping my head around the concept of an anti-Christ. The Christ doesn't seem to me like something you can have an opposite of.
