    Lets lay out the facts.

    Most child molesters are men-
    94% according to Dr. Hall
    http://focus.psychiatryonline.org/article.aspx?articleID=53036

    Most victims are girls:
    1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse;
    http://www.victimsofcrime.org/media/reporting-on-child-sexual-abuse/child-sexual-abuse-statistics

The Family Research Council's(FRC) mission statement is:
Family Research Council's mission is to advance faith, family and freedom in public policy and the culture from a Christian worldview.

Apparently that includes being the open opponent to homosexuality in the United States.

The FRC has published an article equating homosexuals and pedophilia claiming:

The circle of abuse is the tragic legacy of the attempts by homosexuals to legitimize having sex with boys. For too many boys it is already too late to protect them from those who took advantage of their need for love and attention. All too many later perpetrate the abuse by themselves engaging in the sexual abuse of boys. Only by exposing the lies, insincere denials, and deceptions--including those wrapped in scholastic garb--of those who prey sexually on children, can we hope to build a wall of protection around the helpless children among us.

So purportedly the FRC's concern is 'protecting helpless children'- but 4 times as many girls as boys are sexually assaulted by men. If the FRC was concerned about 'build a wall of protection around the helpless children among us'- why don't they mention girls?

Try Googling Family Research Council and Child sex abuse and this is what you get:

And a pattern is quickly established.

The Family Research Council does not comment about child molestation other than to talk about homosexuals.
The FRC has no articles regarding men who molest girls- the majority of victims.

So their claim to be trying to
Only by exposing the lies, insincere denials, and deceptions--including those wrapped in scholastic garb--of those who prey sexually on children, can we hope to build a wall of protection around the helpless children among us.

Is just false- because they are doing nothing to promote safety for the majority of the child molestation victims.

But is the Family Research Council, with its anti-homosexual rhetoric deliberately lying?

That has been answered multiple times- with a reverberating yes- they are lying. Scholars have notified the FRC to stop abusing their research by falsely claiming their research claims the opposite of their conclusions:

    http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/faculty_sites/rainbow/html/facts_molestation.html

In summary, the scientific sources cited by the FRC report do not support their argument. Most of the studies they referenced did not even assess the sexual orientation of abusers. Two studies explicitly concluded that sexual orientation and child molestation are unrelated. Notably, the FRC failed to cite the 1978 study by Groth and Birnbaum, which also contradicted their argument. Only one study (Erickson et al., 1988) might be interpreted as supporting the FRC argument, and it failed to detail its measurement procedures and did not differentiate bisexual from homosexual offenders.

    http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/Articles/000,002.htm
    Dr. Groth to the FRC:
Since your report, in my view, misrepresents the facts of what we know about this matter from scientific investigation, and does not indicate that my studies on this topic reach conclusions diametrically opposed to yours, I would appreciate your removing any reference to my work in your paper lest it appear to the reader that my research supports your views.38

(apparently the FRC did subsequently pull its reference to Dr. Goth......who concluded the contrary to the FRC's claims)

    http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2010/winter/10-myths
Groth found that there are two types of child molesters: fixated and regressive. The fixated child molester — the stereotypical pedophile — cannot be considered homosexual or heterosexual because "he often finds adults of either sex repulsive" and often molests children of both sexes. Regressive child molesters are generally attracted to other adults, but may "regress" to focusing on children when confronted with stressful situations. Groth found that the majority of regressed offenders were heterosexual in their adult relationships.

So are the FRC's lies enabling child molesters?

We know that the majority of child molesters are men, and most of them are close family members, or close family friends, or men in authority- coaches, teachers, clergy, youth group leaders. We know that the majority of victims are girls.

The FRC by linking homosexuality to pedophilia as the threat to 'children'- and by claiming that

While many homosexuals may not seek young sexual partners, the evidence indicates that disproportionate numbers of gay men seek adolescent males or boys as sexual partners. In this paper we will consider the following evidence linking homosexuality to pedophilia:

The FRC is pointing its adherents at homosexuals- and away from the vast majority of child molesters- leaving child molesters with more freedom to act than they would otherwise.

Anyone using the FRC for guidance would be focusing on protecting their little boys from open homosexuals, while leaving them with heterosexual community icons like Jerry Sandusky. Even worse, they would believe that homosexuals were the threat to children, and therefore be misled into believing that their little girls are safe- because they weren't being left with an openly homosexual man, but instead with that nice youth group leader.....

The FRC is empowering child molesters with their attack on homosexuals. The Family Research Councils claims are false, and they are intentional- and in doing so, they put children at risk.

I'm rather homosexual, but I'd describe my worldview as Christian.
