CIS is an adjective. The mental ill clan go on about pronouns, they need to take English grammar class.

It has to be viewed in the socially current sense so he would bear watching.

Except when the statement CLEARLY appeals to an entirely different sense and he CLEARLY is against it in the socially current sense. Watch him all you want. Just tell the truth about him.

Then you understand the truth that he isn't defending pedophilia in the socially current sense. You understand that he isn't defending sexual relationships between adults and children. You understand he was being misrepresented when people implied that he was. Good. I'm glad.

So . . . You want to keep an eye on him . . . By ignoring everything he says. Weird.

I don't need anyone to tell me it's ok to like and befriend kids it's when you start saying I need to redefine pedophile by Greek? I don't read Greek but I know how that word is used by society today so I won't trust anyone who tries to tell me I don't understand.

As I understand it, "Cis" describes what a person actually is at birth. How can that be offensive, except to those who think that regardless of their own body's glands, hormones, sexual apparatus, and physical features that they are somehow something else...? :confuse:

I have lived pretty near 80 years and the term cis is new to me. How in the world did we ever find our way without it

One of the first steps in controlling how a population thinks and acts is to challenge its understanding of who and what they are. And surely when a person becomes so disoriented and deluded that he/she cannot even look between his/her legs and "figure out" what he/she actually is, then that person's mind is ripe for a takeover by those who want to exert mental control.

The word itself is not offensive and does not describe anything offensively.

What is being reacted to here is not the word itself, but the tone and context in which folks hear it. In my experience this word is most often used in a conversation where the person using it is making a distinction about why a "cis-gendered" person shouldn't have a say about something or is wrong in their opinion. In those situations, again it's not the word that is offensive, it's the arrogant little puke using it that is offending you.

I didn't ask for the label. I don't want the label. And while I understand it's meaning, being a male or female is the norm. The default. The baseline of which all branches of other come from. No need for CIS.

It doesn’t enter my vocabulary very often but if I do use it, it’s for differentiation purposes, not to insult or put people down.

If people don’t like the word, they don’t have to use it. It is the way it is used what causes offense to some.

And seriously who the ‘F’ really cares what that cretin Elon Musk thinks. The man is an idiot. He just ruined the twitter brand with his stupidity. As the article states in the second link in the OP:

The term “cis” is short for cisgender, meaning someone whose gender identity matches the sex they were assigned at birth. In other words, it’s the opposite of transgender. Elon Musk was male at birth and still identifies as a man, so he is legitimately cisgender.

That in itself is not offensive until you add offense to it.
