The court, police, lawyers, judges will always be happy to explain the difference between Domestic Abuse and Self-defense in case there's anyone who has learning difficulties.

Do you understand the difference between self defense and assault?

Domestic violence is assault by a domestic partner. This is always legally wrong. If you want to dream up exceptions like revenge for killing your baby or dog or because she is really an Al Qaeda terrorist about to blow up Rush Limbaugh....dream away. I frankly don't understand what your point is.

Self defense is when you protect your children or yourself or anyone else from attack.

This is no different by the way than if you started a thread asking "is murder ever excusable" and then bring up examples of killing to defend your children.

I guess what I wonder is why you are looking for rationalizations as to when it is okay to beat up your girlfriend.

 

did you understand, I'm not concerned with it, I wanted to know if there was an acceptable time to hit your wife/girlfriend. And the answer is yes, there are times.... it may be for self-defense or family protection, but the bottom line is it's yes. Everyone on here is admitting it's ok under certain circumstances, but are desperatley trying not to think of themselves as supporters of domestic abuse, so they distance themselves from the term.

Domestic abuse and domestic violence are not the same as self defense. Why do you think they are?
