I think Trump is a sociopath, and by virtue of that fact alone, should be, not only be disqualified from holding office (14th amendment, giving aid and comfort to a rebellion against the United States) he should be incarcerated for all of his crimes as indicted in the 90 felony counts against him in four separate indictments. Of course, he hasn't had his day in court, but he will, and I hope the courts will allow cameras, for the public good, so everyone can see, with their own eyes, who this man really is, as I see it.

But, this thread is on the question of whether or not he is a sociopath. Now, I recognize there is the clinical opinion, which we don't have, but there is the 'court of public opinion' opinion, and given the descriptors, below, I think there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Trump, is, indeed, a sociopath. All of his attacks against his detractors, including some Republicans, judgers, prosecutors, tweets designed to intimidate, call people to action, like he did in 1/6, is sufficient evidence to form a rational opinion that he is a sociopath.

    Agree?

    (Source: AI and https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/sociopath )

A sociopath is a term often used to describe a person with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). It's characterized by a persistent pattern of disregard for the rights of others, lack of empathy, chronic violation of societal norms, manipulativeness, deceitfulness, and failure to accept personal responsibility.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of some common characteristics:

    1. Lack of Empathy: Sociopaths often have a lack of concern for the feelings or suffering of others. They may be unable to understand the emotional states of other people, and they often lack remorse for harming others.
    2. Manipulativeness and Deceitfulness: They may manipulate others for personal gain or pleasure and are often deceitful, lying, or using aliases without concern for the effect on others.
    3. Impulsivity and Irresponsibility: Sociopaths often act impulsively without considering the consequences and may have difficulty sustaining work or fulfilling obligations.
    4. Disregard for Social Norms and Laws: They often have a persistent pattern of disregard for social norms, rules, and laws, which can lead to repeated arrests or legal problems.
    5. Charming but Superficial: Sociopaths can be charming and engaging, but this charm is often superficial and used to manipulate others.
    6. Lack of Personal Responsibility: They often fail to accept responsibility for their actions and blame others for their problems.
    7. Aggressive Behavior: Some sociopaths may engage in aggressive or violent behavior, though not all do.

    1. Impulsivity and Irresponsibility: Sociopaths often act impulsively without considering the consequences and may have difficulty sustaining work or fulfilling obligations.

Where's the poll for a simple and direct answer? I'd vote 'no'.

This is what happens to a man who thinks he is above the law. Trump is so child-like, he thinks our laws don't apply to him.

Interestingly, whenever Trump or his supporters defend him from his four criminal indictments, they never, ever, deal with the evidence, or even the charges. Instead, they attack our President, the attorney general, judges, and prosecutors -- a sure sign of guilt.

The Times reports, "Another grand jury, another indictment. For the fourth time in as many months, former President Donald J. Trump was charged on Monday with serious crimes and what was once unprecedented has now become surreally routine.

"The sweeping 98-page indictment handed up in Georgia accusing him of corruptly trying to reverse the state’s 2020 election results was any less momentous. But a country of short attention spans has now seen this three times before and grown oddly accustomed to the spectacle.

"Multiple prosecutors have now cumulatively laid out an alleged presidential crime spree of epic proportions, complete with tangled intrigues, mysterious co-conspirators and intersecting subplots. The Georgia indictment went further than previous ones by charging 18 others with joining a criminal enterprise with the former president, including associates like Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mark Meadows, Sidney Powell, Jeffrey Clark and John Eastman."

There is something seriously wrong with the Republican Party. It is so bad that its members on this forum refuse to discuss the issues involving their party.

The nation once recoiled at presidential candidates caught driving under the influence or swiping lines in a speech without credit. Now one of the two major parties has not ruled out a front-runner charged with conspiring to subvert democracy, endangering national security, obstructing justice and falsifying records of hush money to a pornographic film star.

Trump is literally Hitler. I thought we were past this already. Hitler is literally a gay homophobic anti-semitic jew who had sociopathic and empathic tendencies. That means Trump has every quality and distinction Hitler had.

Surely Republicans will come to understand that Trump does not form a foundation for a major US political party.

He's a pure narcistic populist. He doesn't give a crap about our form of government, and there is NO indication that he ever has or ever will.

He couldn't even work with McConnell when McConnell led the Senate!!

I don't want either Trump or the criminal Biden as president. We can do better than this.

Oh, a liberal doesn't need anything to back up an opinion about Trump. Whatever it takes.

I think it's pretty funny how every number on that list can apply to the current occupant of the White House.

But then again Im no psychologist so I'm not going to pretend to sit here and diagnose someone

Really? And you know this, how?
Well, not if you want to know the truth, which will hurt, if you are a Trump follower.

Come back whenever you have an opinion in the 'opinions & belief' forum, duh. I frickin' addressed that point.

Besides, that degree isn't the be all for psychological evaluation you might think it to be, which is has more art to it than science as, say, electrical engineering of physics. In fact, some are saying it has a credibility problem:

I think trump's condition is called malignant narcissism. His constellation of symptoms most closely fits this condition.
Check it out if you don't believe me.

There are still a dwindling few in the GOP who understand that having a TRAITOR as the leading candidate for their party is BAD for their IMAGE.

It also makes the GOP look bad when Xtofascist supporters of the Bigliest Loser such as batshitcrazy types like Bobert and MTG prostrate themselves (figaratively I hope) in DEFENSE of his CRIMES.

From a voter perspective the GOP has become TOXIC which accounts for the massive SWING AWAY from the party and the INCREASE in those who now identify as INDEPENDENTS.

The problem the remaining few sane Republicans have is that they LACK the means to FUMIGATE their party of the STENCH that surrounds the Maloderous Melon.

I'm going with malignant narcissist personality disorder AND a sociopath (even though they can be vastly different, in other words, he's a really ****ed up human) :). Either way, he's not fit to serve or be a government official in any capacity.
