I keep hearing people having a problem with how Israel is conducting its war. They seem to think that:

    1) Hamas is a credible source for counting bodies

    2) That civilians need 20 years to run for their lives before you can safely say you gave them enough warning.

    3) Oh and they also think you can conduct warfare in a densely urban environment in a way that only kills terrorists and spares civilians anyway.

Yet as prone as these civilian loving people might be to protest Israel or target a local civilian Jew for a good beating, they curiously do not even suggest let alone protest about the complete inactivity of the UN to do its job.

Because guess what? There’s an entire international body created to set standards of warfare and enforce them.

So if you don’t like how Israel is destroying Hamas and don’t want to stick a GoPro on your head and show us all how it’s done? No problem! The UN can stick a GoPro on its head and show us how it’s done. Feel free to actually suggest that from now on. It’d be much appreciated in taking these people seriously.

I quite frankly would be extremely supportive of a UN coalition doing more than making sure Hamas is well fed and watered and has all its ouchies band-aided. I don’t think it would be immune from criticism by people whose real aim is to preserve Hamas to let them kill future Jews, but it would drastically deter other actors into escalating the war into a wider conflict as well as exposing those people for who and what they really are.

I have yet to hear anyone defend Hamas

I have heard both sides say intentionally targeting Civilians is wrong, neither side should do that if avoidable (may not always be avoidable)

That's because there's a problem with how Israel is conducting its war. My question to you is..........when people state the demonstrable truth about Israel's conduct why do you hear it as a defense of Hamas' conduct? Why can't you hear it for what it is?

I’m curious how telling israel not to destroy Hamas is not defending Hamas.

Stating this without reconciling the points I made about people stating this is debating failure at an elementary level.

aka when I tell you Hamas is not credible for body counts and all you have to say about Israel is omg look at the body counts Hamas is telling me to believe, that is a debating failure at an elementary level.

    so try again

Speaking for myself, I see it as a defense of Hamas' conduct because the same people pushing the anti-Israel position that you are pushing, were doing so prior to Israel actually responding. Their position has not changed one iota from prior to the response versus after the response. Just as with Hamas, your reaction was seemingly already baked into the cake. In fact, your response regarding collateral damage is undifferentiated from the Hamas response. Obviously, Hamas' concern is phony, or they would not purposely surround themselves with civilians. One could draw a similar conclusion regarding your concern, because one would otherwise logically expect your outrage to be directed toward Hamas. Saying something along the lines of "I dont support Hamas but..." is not REALLY directing outrage in their direction. It is changing the subject away from their direction.

Changing the subject away from outrage toward Hamas (which is the obvious bad guy for starting this conflict while purposefully targeting civilians with no military target in sight) and instead directing your outrage solely at Israel, in my mind is undeniably a defense of Hamas. If you and others pushing your position are not truly defenders of Hamas, you are doing a great job of mimicking one.

First thing to remember is that these pro-Hamas anti-Semites are outnumber 2/1 in the US, they just have really big mouths and are supported by the same America Hating folks that control the news and the universities. Most of America is quite rationally learning to detest these folks that work constantly for the destruction of the United States.

AND NOW FOR SOME GOOD NEWS: Hamas commander who directed October 7 terror attack killed in airstrike.

War began 4 weeks ago after the sub-human Hamas
'terrorist group infiltrated' Israel 'on October 7, firing thousands of rockets at residential areas and butchering civilians.'

1,400 Israeli civilians and soldiers and 36 American were murdered by the sub-human terrorists. 'At least 10 Americans are feared to be among the 240 people held captive by Hamas' as human shields.

Calling out posters is against forum rules is it not? There are plenty of anti-Israel threads out there using Hamas-provided body counts to tell us Israel is as bad or worse than Hamas with the specific intent that Israel needs to be stopped.

My point is regardless of what you think about Israel conducting the war, your proper place to is go to the UN if you are truly Anti-Hamas.

But that’s not what they’re doing now is it?

oh right, you’re not really aware of what people have been saying or the arguments being made or the logical conclusions behind those arguments.

Do some reading. Like I said, anti-Israel threads are plentiful

How about you start with substantiating your claim about the inaccuracy of the figures Hamas has published, then we can proceed to the next topic. Namely, the use of your unproven theory to justify the carnage Israel is causing.

The daily death count released by the Gaza Health Ministry has helped stir protests around the world, as the total has quickly exceeded the number of dead suffered by Israel. The Israel Defense Forces said it launched more than 7,000 airstrikes into the Gaza Strip, a seaside area that’s only twice the size of D.C. with more than 2 million people.

At an Oct. 25 White House news conference, a reporter began a question to Biden by noting that “the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry says Israeli forces have killed over 6,000 Palestinians, including 2,700 children.”

Biden’s dismissal of the ministry’s statistics — that he had “no confidence” in them — was striking. The State Department has regularly cited ministry statistics without caveats in its annual human rights reports. The U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which tracks deaths in the conflict, has found the ministry’s numbers to be reliable after conducting its own investigation. “Past experience indicated that tolls were reported with high accuracy,” an OCHA official told The Fact Checker.

Gee, Hamas will invade their neighbor and gangrape and murder women children and babiles, but they won't lie about casualty stats when the neighbor counter attacks?

I did a search of your posts to find evidence that you condemned Hamas' invasion of their neighbor and subhuman slaughter of innocent Jews and Americans, and guess what? I was unable to find any evidence that you had.

STAND UP AGAINST TERROR AND BIGOTRY: Video: Pro-Israel students counterprotest pro-Hamas classmates.

I expect the Pro-Hamas folks to resort to violence when they can't suppress free expression with intimidation.

And there we have it, the “I believe Hamas” argument, backed up by independent analysis which itself is based on “past experience”. There is no concurrent independent verification of Hamas’ claims but don’t let that stop you from believing Terrorists.

The burden of proof is not on me to prove Hamas is wrong it’s on Hamas to prove its correct. SO WHERE ARE THE 10,000 bodies laid out for the cameras? Verification should be real easy bro

Gee, I never would have guessed you'd go there. Get back to me when you can credibly refute the GHM's numbers.

That’s all you got? Well no one ever said faithfully believing terrorists would be an easy intellectual argument to make. Still I would have thought you’d try harder.

The issue is that for the first time in history a terrorist organization has a massive international media network through which to push it's propaganda. Couple that with virtually 99% of the worlds population having zero idea how military operations actually work and you get this mess. Terrorists greatest weapon is not fear as many tend to believe, it's propaganda. Add to that a generation who has been indoctrinated to believe that every scenario can be summarized by oppressed and oppressor and life should be "fair" then you get this mess.

Hamas is loving this, they know exactly what they are doing and know exactly how certain demographics will react to their propaganda. This is nothing new, terrorists have been pulling this card forever it's just that only now have they had access to mass internet media to push this strategy into overdrive. They're simply weaponizing folks ignorance, compassion, and emotions and doing so to great effect.

To put it in layman's terms, the average person has no idea what they are talking about regarding this conflict. They don't understand the history, they don't understand the culture, they don't understand how terrorists operate, they don't understand military operations, and they don't even understand that they are being manipulated by EXPERTS in propaganda. They see gruesome pictures and videos and make their decisions based on their emotions. That's why you have even politicians like AOC saying things like Israel should send special forces in there or something and just target the Hamas guys. Or others saying why does Israel have to level the building and not just kill the Hamas guy in there instead and leave the building up. These types of people are just ignorant as to how anything like this works. Can't fault them necessarily, virtually NOBODY understands how wars are actually fought outside of those who are in that profession. Which is fine, the only time it becomes problematic is when ignorant people refuse to concede their opinions to actual experts in the field because their emotions won't allow them to do so.

get back to me when you have anything to say other than “I believe the terrorists and base it in nothing credible whatsoever!”

And then after you fail to do that, since theres nothing supporting your assertions whatsoever, please explain why it takes zero critical thought for you to defend terrorists. You just don’t like Jews or something?

FYI. Hamas uses Children and Civilians as meat shields.

I reckon they feel if they die along with the civilians and kids, then they make themselves look good. Seems to be working.

    See post #11.

Also..........Medhat Abbas, the Gaza Health Ministry’s director general, said in an interview that he was so disturbed by Biden’s comment that he ordered his staff to release a 212-page document with the name of every victim identified so far — including age, sex and identity number. The list included almost 7,000 names.

Have the numbers been independently verified? No. Let's say the number is less by 1K, or even 2K. Does the death of 5K civilians justify Israel's retaliation in your mind?

All deaths in war can only be measured as to whether they are “worth it” or not based on the outcome of the war. The fact you don’t know that and judge each death as it happens in real time without even accurate information is quite frankly the saddest thing I’ve read from anyone in a long time

the reason you do not negotiate with terrorists or let their tactics win in deterring you from killing them is specifically to deter future actions by would-be terrorists.

you would empower the terrorists of the world to keep doing exactly what they do and thus ensure far more people die and live in terrorist run hellholes than anything Israel has done

But hey, I guess if you agree with the terrorists then you don’t mind their tactics and want more of ‘em. Great job there buddy!

This is my question as well. It seems any criticism of Israel is misheard and mistaken to be support for Hamas.

It reminds me of the atmosphere post 9/11 in the US where it was "with us or against us" and any criticism of US military or government action was misheard as support for Bin Laden. That was used to lie the US into both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars and line the pockets or politicians and arms contractors.
