I love King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives in Riyadh.. Have you been there? The centennial celebration in 1999 and 2000 were wonderful. Who is Sir Ryan.

Ibn Saud rejected the British in spite of the pleasantries.

Did you actually read the article?

Was Saudi Arabia in a position to send ‘armies into Palestine’ which ‘did best in the Palestine fighting’ as claimed in a Times article on 1 July 1948? According to British reports, such statements were so ‘fantastic that it seemed pointless to comment on their improbability…Saudi troops number 1200 in Palestine (or Egypt) and another 100 are being trained. They went off with very little equipment and no ammunition. The men were almost all untrained and quite useless for modern warfare. Some of them did not even know how to fire a rifle’. lix Later Brigadir Baird confirmed that eight armoured cars and a number of trucks were dispatched at the end of July 1948 by sea to Egypt

Saudi Arabia has only one newspaper and almost NO radios

It is not enough just to read an article but also to understand it. And you don't.
I quoted a confirmative part of the article and you one of the speculative versions.
Anyway I don't discuss the efficacy of the Saudi military involvement but just pointed to your wrong statement that SA didn't participated in the 1948 war. They did send combat troops and they did pay money. That is a known fact and it doesn't need your approval.
