We got about 4" of snow last night and early this morning. It was nice, as I had the day off and was able to go out and make some extra cash doing snow removal. And like every year it snows, I'm again grateful for my gas guzzling, four wheel drive Chevy Tahoe. I must have seen 4 or 5 cars stuck in ditches, countless cars pointlessly trying to climb minor grades, and probably 4 or 5 fender benders. I accidentally slid off into a ditch myself, but was able to get out. I'll never go without a 4x4 as long as I live in a region where snow can be expected every year. Also, today's conditions were perfect for creating prime snow sledding conditions tomorrow The snow was a heavy wet snow, the sun came out warm and somewhat intense for a good portion of the day (causing the snow to melt a bit), then the temperature dropped and the wind picked up, causing everything to freeze again. The snow will be slick as snot tomorrow. I'm just hoping today's snow removal won't leave me feeling like I'm 80 in the morning. Did anyone else catch any of this recent snow storm?
I love snow.. and I doubt we'll have any in GA this winter. How I love the blanket of quiet that comes over the landscape..
Snowing now in the Western alps. Supposed to get a foot or two. That on top of the foot we just got a couple of days ago. Storm headed East by Saturday...Batten down the hatches...
In the past week here in Wisconsin we got close to 24" of snow, 4" on Monday/Tuesday and 18-20" today. It was the wet, sloppy, and heavy kind. I had the driveway clear at two in the afternoon and an hour later at three there was another three inches of snow already down. With such an amount of heavy snow our power also went out for six hours. If our power hadn't have gone out it would be a perfect day. And just to prove that there isn't a stranger place for weather than Wisconsin 25 miles south of me had rain until 2pm today.
