Well there you have it folks....newt says he can bring gas prices down to $2.50. So, instead of Obama telling us he can too, and here's how he's going to do it...

He instead basically calls Americans who believe it can be done...idiots. And, calls newt a liar.

    Enter my avatar, and signature.

The Alinsky student/teacher in-cheif...just cannot help himself to this thug style tactic.

Please Obama go back to Chicago where you fit in, this whole president of the united states thingy just is not working out for you. People are tired of hearing your voice.

"but but but, I just need 4 more years"

Isn't going to happen...he is finished!

Indeed, that seems to be an accurate assessment.

Last time I checked the president of the US does not control the international oil market. Newt's promise is so outstandingly ridiculous that I tend to agree that anyone that believes it is missing his or her 5's and 10's out of their deck.

Let me guess....you haven't even looked at newt's proposal have you?

And why is it you are not sick of your president treating you like an imbecile?

His proposal? Are you referring to his proposed subsidization of the gas industry? Which also runs counter to his claim to be for a smaller government and more fiscally responsible? That proposal?

Newt's nonsense is political spew, nothing more, and certainly not rooted in reality.

I am not sure what this has to do with anything I said.

If gas prices are going to make Ubama's numbers go down, I hope he just keeps up with his current policies...hell let it go to 6 bucks a gallon. The higher the better, if it means Ubama's demise.

Gas prices seem to be linked to the international commodities market and speculation.

None of this seems to be linked to presidential policy, but instead to a market driven system where cost hinges on the amount of supply available, and fears of disrupting that supply.

Take the XL Pipeline for example ... the Canadians are in your face telling you that this Tar Sands Oil is for export after refining in Texas ...

Astonish us with great fables how this brings down gas prices and for domestic consumption ?

When gasoline is this high, everything will go up. It's just not the pain at the pump. Everything we need is trucked in.

Tell us about the North Dakota seniors who were kicked-out into the street by landlords to make way for oil workers who will pay 4 times the rent ...

Newt laid out a rational and acheivable plan that would without any
doubt Reduce our dependency on foreign oil.
As usual Obama is left with nothing but egg on his face,
having no Plan to reduce our dependency short of using
less fossil fuel or lessening demand.
Wind power and solar have been shown to be way too little
    in any practical sense,also.
Newt has shown a serious interest in tackling this Oil depenency
    problem with real world analysis.
Obama's analysis is basically Political pap.

Why don't you tell us about it then? Got stats on how many or just a couple sob stories from Huffington post?

Really? Please feel free to link us all to this "rational" plan and we can discuss the merits of it.

Because what I see is he has proposed subsidizing the cost of gas and increasing government spending in a rather pinko manner.

We need gas exploration on public lands. Gulf Drilling and exploration open and accessible. Approve the Keystone Pipeline. Instead of the hundreds of millions he approved in South America oil development, spend that money here.
    Open more refiners here.

Oil boom raises rents in ND, pushes seniors out

*I saw an ad on craiglist tonight (North Dakota) 5000/mo for a 4BR/2BAduplex in Williston 1620 sq ft.
Geez.... my entire house payment for a less than 10 yr old house with 5 BR/3BA is 1400/mo (incl tax/specials/insurance).

Wow....so unfortunate that those who are not making the money are having to suffer.*

Has everyone forgotten $5/gal. gas under Bush? The truth is that Presidents do not control the price of gas. Supply and demand has a lot to do with it. Demand from China and India is the biggest component of the increase. Speculators, driven by the beating of war drums against Iran, have a lot to do with the increase too.

Unless you want the government to take over the oil industry, there is nothing that the President could do to affect oil prices. And, that would include a (shudder) President Gingrich. Gingrich didn't accomplish anything while Speaker, and left in disgrace due to ethical violations. Gingrich did say once, “It doesn’t matter what I do. People need to hear what I have to say. There’s no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn’t matter what I live.” So, I do not believe that he could keep his promise of $2.50 per gallon. He's just making promises that he cannot keep.

Rick Santorum who was on Mark Levin last night explained
what he saw in N.Dakota.Basically Tent cities. There is a real
need for developers to move in there and develop but Obama is
purposedly targetting that state et.al. where Oil is aplenty
to Overregulate and make it near impossible for Housing
to be set up.Obama is purpossedly making it hard to
have proper housing for those working oil fields to have homes
to go home to at night. That is just one way this nefarious President
is working NOT to make a better America for all,but to
politically drive a wedge so as make it just that much harder for
the oil Industry in this land to succeed.
Tell us all where Obama is helping to make it easier on Oil
workers in North Dakota.Obama is working to make it more difficult.
