It's only a matter of time before one of our ships is hit by a missile, then what?

I was not commenting on any policy. I was providing someone (not you or @Steve N) information.

Why hasn't that happened? Have you thought through the consequences?

I was providing information, not my opinion. You really should learn how to discern the difference before replying.

'in international relations' LMFAO. Us being subservient to others might look like relations, but it's very much one sided in favor of the beneficiary. But hey, it is what the 'who we are' crowd specializes in. It benefits them and the system, to the detriment to the US and its prosperity.

Do 85+ military strikes sound too "subservient" to you?

If it does, now we know who in this forum is NOT well versed on international relations.

"John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, told reporters Friday that in all seven facilities used by IRGC and its proxies were hit — three in Iraq and four in Syria. The strikes, he said, occurred over 30 minutes. The Iraqi government was informed beforehand, he said.

The targets were chosen to avoid civilian casualties, he said."

    Translation from the politispeak;
"used by IRGC and its proxies were hit — three in Iraq and four in Syria."
We found some old abandoned camps that likely were used at one time and finished flattening what was there"
"The strikes, he said, occurred over 30 minutes."
Even though abandoned, we wanted to be extra special careful to give anyone in the area plenty of time to get their poop in a group and evacuate the area.
"The Iraqi government was informed beforehand"
We needed to make sure we didn't piss off anyone in Iraq so we made sure they knew to get whatever was there moved. We don't need anymore embarrassing "death to America" chants going on you see.

Yes. Most middle east countries will scream bloody murder, more than a few western countries along with China and Russia will do the same, the media will reluctantly rake Biden over the coals, and the Houthi will never ever do it again.

Is it enough to stop the attacks?

Doing things for others is subservient. The Germans were subservient to the British by being paid mercs in the Revolutionary War. We are the Germans of 1776 in the free world!

I see what you mean. You think anything short of Global Thermonuclear War is too subservient

Where did you get that nonsense. First of all, doing something for other is NOT subservient. However, we have done NOTHING for anybody. Everything we do is for ourselves. Of course, people who don't have the foresight to look beyond their noses won't understand that. Fortunately, our leaders, since the founding of the nation, have not been that nearsighted (except Trump). And this is why we are the world's number one power.

    The Houthis Are Not Deterred

A proportionate response is the level of force necessary to result in your attacking, no longer attacking you. Bribed Joe is no better at this than he is a stairs.

“The situation in the Red Sea is dramatically escalating. The flurry of Houthi activity off the coast of Yemen rivals the intensity of terrorist operations that provoked Biden’s reluctant kinetic response in the first place.'

'This week, a U.K.-registered cargo ship reportedly sustained “catastrophic” damage and is at risk of sinking. Two U.S.-owned vessels suffered “minor damage” as a result of Houthi ballistic-missile attacks, one of which carried grain'

'That's because we're doing nothing to deter the Iranians. Until the Iranians get deterred, the Houthis will continue their attacks on shipping, and the supply-chain crisis will start biting Biden sooner rather than later.
    '
