Look the guy was just the Chief of the Capitol Hill Police. Sure he notes that this was treated differently than any other event, broke with past protocol and he was not briefed even though that would be part of his job.

Don't think about it. Don't ask any questions. You don't want to be one of those people who wonder why he was suddenly fired by Nancy Pelosi. He sounds like the type of guy who trusted the system then realized later he had become a patsy for the fed actions. At least now he is speaking up.

Years ago, researching South Korea under the regime of Chun Doo-hwan, which lasted until 1987, I read that the police would send undercover secret officers into crowds of protesters to incite violence and throw things at police. This would then give the police riot forces excuse and pretext to attack the crowd of otherwise mostly non-belligerent protesters and disperse them.

 

I have no doubt that Democrats wanted to facilitate January 6. It was the only good thing that happened for them after the 2020 “summer of love” riots in so many cities, which included attacks on Federal Courthouses, which they conveniently forget.

Democrats totally controlled the House (of Representatives) at the time, and the Capitol Police.

The D.C. area is 93% Democrats.

At that time they had reason to believe Trump was going to be out of office soon. So there probably wouldn't be time for investigations or retribution.
Biden was about to be inaugurated as president only 2 weeks later, January 20.

Well the Democrats certainly tried to milk it for all it was worth with the hearings they held while they ruled the House. Event was a media circus almost held more as a public relations event for media exposure and news coverage. A lot of the hearing was actually scripted and they even brought in a private sector big name media executive to coordinate the whole thing. Republicans were not given a fair chance to defend the former president at the hearing, which was conducted like a show trial.

Of course that type of thing is not really unnormal for House hearings, holding a charade hearing to make a political show, but the Democrats really took it over the top, exceeding anything that's ever been done before.
