It has been my experience that it is always the so called conservatives who have decimated the US Constitution at every turn in the past half century. Look into who has supported attacks on the 4th amendment in cases of search and seizure giving police agencies far reaching power over the individual citizens. In my lifetime it has always been the liberals and progressives who have fought to uphold the US Constitution. Also your silly claim that the US Constitution made being a liberal illegal is a real joke. Jefferson, Franklin and many of our founding fathers were progressives and free thinking liberals. Some of our greatest leaders were progressives including Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. Our founders who wrote the Constitution only though that white land owning males were fit to participate in our Republic as far as having any voting rights. It has been the liberals and progressives who have fundamentally changed the rules set forth by the US Constitution which has allowed non whites, women and people who don't own land to actually vote. So, as you see, holding these men up as some kind of champions of freedom is really a ridiculous notion. Without the great progressives and liberals who risked their asses by taking up unpopular causes in the name of "Liberty and Justice For All", we might be the same bigoted, racist, misogynistic country that they founded. The record is clear for all to see champ. Maybe you should read it. I am a white male land owner, but I am still glad that there were people who saw the injustice written boldly into our Conrstitution and had the guts to radically change it.

when you think of it our Founders were geniuses who realized that only land owners should be allowed to vote since that meant they already had money. It meant they understood how you get land or how progress is made in life and thus were free to vote intelligently based on experience and financial independence. Whereas poor people would be inclined to vote for desperately needed money and ignore the commonweal.
