So, there's this Imam Yasir Qadhi, and he's an imam in Memphis. He is also Dean of Academic Affairs at the Al-Maghrib Institute. He is a hafiz -- that is, he has memorized the entire Qur'an. He has an M.A. in the Islamic Creed and a B.A. in Islamic Sciences from Islamic University of Medina, as well as a master's and a doctorate in Islamic Studies from Yale. Here's what Wiki has to say about him: Qadhi was born in Houston, Texas, to parents of Pakistani origin.[2][4][5] When Qadhi was five, the family moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he would graduate high school two years early, at 15, as class valedictorian.[4] Qadhi returned to Houston to complete a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Houston. After a short stint at Dow Chemical, Qadhi in 1996 enrolled at the Islamic University of Medina in Medina, Saudi Arabia. There he earned a bachelor's degree in Arabic from the university's College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences and a master's degree in Islamic Theology from its College of Dawah.[3][5][2] Qadhi returned to the United States in 2005 after nine years in Saudi Arabia.[5] Qadhi gives regular sermons and lectures, and also appears on a number of Islamic satellite channels: (Islam Channel in England; Huda TV in Egypt; Al-Fajr Channel in Egypt; and Peace TV in India, the UK, and the U.S), where he teaches theology, Seerah, Tajweed and other topics. A former Salafist, he described himself as a "revivalist" in the Islamic sense, and likens some of the practices he endorses as similar to those practiced by conservative Christian groups and Orthodox Jews in America, particularly with regard to dietary laws, family values, and modest dress for women.[5] Qadhi is also one of the founding members and Islamic specialists at MuslimMatters.org, a blogzine for American Muslims. In January 2010 The Daily Telegraph, a conservative British newspaper, reported that Qadhi in 2001 had described the Holocaust as a hoax and false propaganda, and had claimed that "Hitler never intended to mass-destroy the Jews."[11] Qadhi denied stating that the Holocaust was a hoax or that it was false propaganda, but admitted that he had briefly held mistaken beliefs about the Holocaust. In July 2010, Qadhi was selected to participate in an official delegation of US imams and religious leaders to visit the concentration camps at Auschwitz and Dachau. The Imams subsequently released a joint statement condemning anti-Semitism and labeling Holocaust denial as against the ethics of Islam.[13] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ammaar_Yasir_Qadhi OK... not a bad guy, a very educated, an expert on Islam who can recite Qu'ran, and he's an Imam in America. Now, please listen to excerpts from his latest speech - it's only 2:30 long, so do listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=l1jC0y8hIs8 Here's what he says, among other things: his words about jihad, quoting Muhammad: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify la illaha illa Allah [there is no god but Allah]." Qadhi also says: "The life and property of a mushrik [one who worships others besides Allah] holds no value in the state of jihad....which means if they don't say la illaha illa Allah, their lives and property are halal" -- that is, permitted to be taken by the Muslims. ... so the Christians, they are kuffar (infidels), they are Nejjis (filthy), they are filthy, a spiritual filthiness that can only be purified by death ..... Allah calls them a dirty filthy substance..." _____________________________________________________________ So, the question is - how soon will this Imam be arrested for spreading hatred?
Spreading hatred, lowlife as it is, isn't a crime. If it were Fred Phelps and his clan would all be in jail by now.
It makes libs in America pretty dumb for allowing Muslims to bring their hatred and violence to America where they and it do not belong.
Anyone can bring hate to a nation all they want, hell its practiced often enough here as it is (see Phelps, New Black Panthers, KKK, etc). Because like I said, hate speech isn't a crime or the above parties, not to mention many members of this forum, would be in jail now. Violence on the other hand, not so tolerated here.
OK fine. Be it as it may, you're at least admitting that a respected scholar, recipient of multiple higher educations, a learned man who can recite Qu'ran and have ear of people in many countries and was a part of US official delegation of imams and religious leaders to visit the concentration camps at Auschwitz and Dachau is spreading hate? But, but, all he does is teaching the word of Allah and Muhammad, teaching Qu'ran? So, let's put two and two together now, you can do it... teaching Qu'ran equals spreading hate. Is that what you're saying?
Absolutely. Start a thread on it, and I'll be the first to talk to you about it. Here, we're talking about Islam. Shoo.
As you say, we have enough home-grown hate already. We certainly don't need to import more from the crazy muslim countries.
Spreading hate is legal, violence is not. There's a difference between the two. By the way, teaching the Quran doesn't automatically mean you're spreading hate, just so you know. Kinda peculiar how he apparently says "Jews are filthy" and at the same time retracted his Holocaust denial views though. - - - Updated - - - But...he was born in Houston....so it would be homegrown logically.
Nope, not gonna fly. Yasir Quadhi is a scholar, recipient of prestigious theological education from Yale and Medina. He's an expert on Qu'ran and can recite it backwards and forward, which is recognized in the Islam world as the highest religious achievement (hafiz) He's an authority - what he says, must be the truth. Which means, he indoctrinates muslims with hate toward Christians, Jews and other infidels. There's no way to spin it.
Whether they actually buy it or not is another story, considering the lack of anti-Christian or anti-Jew protests that occur in America.
Yes. But indoctrinating them with hate toward Christians and Jews he does. Will the left be outraged with it? Are you outraged with it?
Progressives think they are protected by the house of peace, when they are not allowed in it. They and every other non-Muslim is in the house of war and can be treated like an Iron Age POW. It is all very legal under Sharia.
You have to notice that many on the Left only see Christianity as evil and are constantly sticking up for Islam. Also have to wonder why it is mostly imam that are preaching hate? That would be like Christian ministers preaching hate. Aren't they suppose to preach love and forgiveness? This is the main thing that's wrong with Islam. There have been several imam that have been kicked out of America and several other Western countries. This is one sick religion.
Yes. But there's nothing I can say that he won't ignore, just like anyone else in this forum or on any other. And he's American, so he's just as bad as any other homegrown-based hate group. Sharia does not exist nor is legal nor will ever be legal in America.
Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi is an American Imam living in Tennessee, and openly preaching hate toward Christian and Jews to a large international audience... large international audience. Forget the freedom of speech, forget legalities and all this. The question is - does the large international audience dismisses what this Imam is saying, or are they accepting his teachings? And where's the voices of outrage FROM these thousands of muslims who listens to the hate speeches? Does any muslim rises against this American Imam? Do not think so... which means, his hate sermons are received by the appreciating audiences.
