most of the land annexed by Israel was NEVER considered part of Jerusalem. Not under the Jordanians, the British, or the Ottomans.
As I wrote to you: Prior to 1967, the city of Jerusalem was devided into two parts, the Israeli one, and those that were under Jordanian illegal control. In 1980 the city was been consolidated.
You, post #162 "Yes correct. Jordan did annex the WB..." Nothing after the "..." is relevant to the fact that Jordan annexed the WB.
After the "..." is indeed relevent since what you didnt qoute in this comment after the "...." is the part which I stated that such annexation was illegal and without world recognition. But I guess that's the only way for you to make yourself right, to misqoute my statements. But dont worry, my full comment is up there, and nothing can take it down
so if I call Newark "West Manhattan", that makes it so??? LOL!!!! show us a map of the areas annexed in 1980, calling it "Jerusalem" before 1980.
if Germany annexes Holland, and calls it "western Germany", does that make is true? LOL!!!! - - - Updated - - - if Russia annexes Latvia and calls it "west russia", does that make it true? LOL!!!!!
OK. So it was, presumably, 'up for grabs'? If so, why was the annexation 'illegal'? Just because Jordan got there first instead of Israel? Given that the most recent 'government' of the WB had been the British Mandatory government, and Jordan's annexation was recognised by GB, what's the problem?
Palestinian farmers had been tending 500 year old olive trees, maintaining terraces and water conduits built by the Romans. That was NOT done by European Jews.
Indeed -- and so, when Israel invaded the WB in 1967, it invaded Jordan. And then, in 1988, Jordan gave up its claim on the WB. Thus, the WB belongs to Israel.
I say it once again, and will continue to write it to you: Jordan illegaly annexed the WB and never got world recogntion.
the vast majority of what you call "East Jerusalem" wasnt called "Jerusalem" by the British, Jordanians, or Turks. only a very small part was. the rest is simply the West Bank.
Jordan annexed it illegaly and without any kind of world recognition. - - - Updated - - - So you asked a map, I provided one, and now you are ignoring it? Nice Ron!
Still, you wanted a map that shows East Jerusalem, as the name, on the map, I provided it,but you choose to ignore it. Nice Ron. - - - Updated - - - Jordan annexed it illegaly and without any kind of world recognition.
only a small portion of "East Jerusalem" was ever actually part of the City of Jerusalem, under Jordanian, British, or Ottoman rule. Most of it, is simply just West Bank land. this is according to a Jewish map. - - - Updated - - - your map proves that most of East Jerusalem was never actually considered part of Jerusalem. thanks for proving I am right.
