    I can't believe I'm seeing this. Please tell me it's a joke.

I started to read the ruling until my head began to hurt. Maybe someone here can decipher it for me.

    ............................................

Federal judge in Massachusetts says a shirt that reads “there are only two genders” is not protected speech and “invades the rights of others.”

I thought kids went to school to be educated, not be political.

What if the kid's shirt had said Happy Juneteenth? Think they'd have been censored for it?

In the UK judges wear wigs for Christ's sake. Supposed to make them look wise or something.

The mental gymnastics required to reach the conclusion that a shirt violates someones rights are astounding.

But not unpredicted. Its not so long ago we heard chants like 'silence is violence'.

If they can make violence subjective, civilization will be in dire threat. And that is the goal. They cant build what they want without first burning down what is.

    Whats political about Juneteenth?

    Or gender, ftm?

And why shouldn't kids be able to voice their politics in school? They still teach civics, right?

Did someone really ask what is political about gender, ftm? Holy F. It’s a hugely political issue.

I don't know. Is this what it was like back when it was ok for the KKK to burn crosses on the front lawns of black families in the name of free speech?

And civics class is where politics belongs, besides that shirt is being worn to degrade and insult.

Last time I read the 1st amendment, it said “abridging the freedom of speech.” Not abridging the freedom of protected speech.

What part of “school dress code” is difficult? If a school has a dress code that states you cannot wear skirts shorter than 5 inches above the knee (believe it or not this was an issue at my high school) - is the school right to ban those skirts? Damn! I remember the fad was “Witches Britches” and THOSE were banned

So what is so horrendous about enforcing dress codes?

Come on, Steve-- if you had a legitimate beef, you wouldn't have to misrepresent it, as you do, in your OP. The judge did NOT rule that the shirt's words were not "free speech." The kid is perfectly free, to wear that shirt, when he is not in school. The ruling, was simply that the school could consider this shirt as a violation of its dress code. Likewise, I don't think many would be outraged if a kid was not allowed to wear a shirt, exclaiming "F*** You!" And the prohibition of such a shirt, by a school's dress code, I doubt that many would be so gullible-- as seem to be several, here-- to believe that this would mean the judge had ruled that those words were not included in free speech. It is just that all free speech, need not be allowed in all places.

Fifty years ago a shirt with F You on it would have been inappropriate and/or offensive at school, a shirt saying there are two genders would not be. What changed?

Two genders apparently needs to be educated to people.

I would like to see a muslim family walk downtown wearing those shirts and see how it goes down in court.

So anyone who disagrees with the left and forms their own opinion on something based on centuries of settled science is a dickhead. That sounds like a mighty hateful, bigoted and intolerant statement which could incite violence.
