Judge Knocks Trump Lawyer for Claiming He's a 'Protected Class' Judge Knocks Trump Lawyer for Claiming He's a 'Protected Class' (msn.com) Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron pushed back after former President Donald Trump's attorney said her client was part of a "protected class" and facing discrimination from New York Attorney General Letitia James. "The traditional protected classes are race, religion, etc.," Engoron asserted. "Donald Trump doesn't fit that model. He's not being discriminated against based on race, is he? Or religion, is he? He's not a protected class. If Ms. James has a thing against him, OK, that's not in my understanding unlawful discrimination. He's just a bad guy she should go after as the chief law enforcement officer of the state." So according to the delusional, senile old man, Donnie Trump, being rich, white, and male should be a shield to accusations of criminality. Sorry, Crooked Donnie, but in this country, you should NOT be above the law for being an ex-president, or as one commenter wrote: A protracted ass.
Mazars said in the letter that it had not “as a whole” found material discrepancies between the information the Trump Organization provided and the actual value of Mr. Trump’s assets, something that Mr. Trump’s lawyers asserted had effectively rendered the civil and criminal investigations “moot.” But Justice Engoron scoffed at that argument, likening it to the dystopian slogans like “War Is Peace” in George Orwell’s “1984”; to Lewis Carroll’s inverse meanings in “Through the Looking Glass”; and to the former senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway’s “alternative facts.” Suggesting that the “Mazars red-flag warning” about the financial statements made the investigations moot, the judge wrote, “is as audacious as it is preposterous.” https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/17/nyregion/trump-investigation-letitia-james.html
I could have made an argument that political beliefs are closely related to religious beliefs particularly as politics have largely become the new repository for moral absolutism, and is equally as immune in the minds of millions to chastising hypocrisy. Infallibility of God has always just been ego wrapped in platitudes. Political discourse is nearly indistinguishable it's just based in a different kind of delusional assumption of relevance.. Probably would have just angered the judge more, but I mean you already threw it out there take a stab at it lol.
Trump's Being Ordered To Testify. Will He Plead The Fifth? “The mob takes the Fifth,” Trump once told a campaign crowd in Iowa when running for president. www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-probe-testi... Of course, Crooked Donnie will take the Fifth, he knows that he is dirtier than dirt. Besides, Crazy Donnie is way too senile to remember saying what he said earlier about those who take the Fifth.
He's not senile but he doesn't care what he said earlier because his apologists will rationalize **anything** on his behalf. He lucked out, huh He had a Daddy Warbucks & a few hundred thousand helicopter moms picking up his messes for him. Seriously, he was ACTUALLY charged with fraud in a charity scam, fake school, fake steaks, has had six bankruptcies, walked off the job mid-pandemic, blamed Democrats because he's incompetent (and threatened by anybody with firing synapses) and every single time he see more that $1.00 USD on the planet, he finds a way to shuffle it into his personal coffers. Why should he stop? His con is still working and they are cool with it even when he cheats his own donors.
CNN political analyst Michael Smerconish argued that former President Donald Trump has worse things to worry about than the growing controversy over his removal of classified documents from the White House. That said, Smerconish believed that Trump's pilfering of classified documents would prove to be a mild problem for him -- at least compared to the other legal investigations he's facing. ".....for anybody else this is five-alarm fire. For him, I think it's the least of his worries," added Smerconish. "He's got the Manhattan District Attorney, he's got the New York Attorney General, the January 6th commission, and a grand jury in Georgia all looking at him. If he were a major corporation — and he isn't in reality — there'd be in-house teams of lawyers and a lot of outside counsel. In his case, this has got to be incredibly expensive and difficult to manage. It's like a death by a thousand cuts, legally speaking." www.youtube.com
Doesn't our Constitution say we are all equal under the LAW??? Yet obviously our EX-president thinks he is better than the rest.
