That's where you're wrong, very wrong. See, the thing is you are assuming the judge was being fair and impartial in this case.

The jury could have rendered its decision through a combination of stupidity and bias.
It's very easy for a lawyer to manipulate and sway the emotions of stupid jurors, and a lot of people in the population are not very bright or capable of understanding logic or complex legal matters.
And it's not only just stupid people. A lot of normal people don't have the attention spans to sit through many boring hours of court depositions, so they stop paying close attention, or it's hard for them to devote much mental effort to think about the issues. It's like the equivalent of stupid person.

Most of the population around New York City really hates Trump, and lacks the same sense of ethics that much of the rest of America has.

I'll also emphasize that the law, by itself, is not inherently fair, and is subject to a lot of interpretation. It's common for laws to be able to be interpreted in either a fair good way, or an unfair unethical bad way.

 

It is a reasonable assumption that the judge was being fair and impartial.

As for the jury, it seems you simply have no respect for your peers when they disagree with you. There is no reasoning with you, yet you insist on arguing nonstop, coming back with absurdities like this. How do you know it's not you who is being stupid and biased? People tend to overestimate their own intelligence and expertise and underestimate those of others who disagree with them, you know.

 

This is New York City. They are looking for any excuse to get him.

If you doubt that New York is unreasonable, just look at the new law they passed that Trump was sued under in this case.

Reminds me the case with Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the director of the International Monetary Fund, who was accused of the sexual assault of a hotel maid in 2011. It was also in New York. Later the charges were dismissed, but that case destroyed his way to be a president in France. Seems very convinient way in the US to ''kill'' political people that are not desired to be a president.
