4 years on each count if convicted. I predict he may serve some jail time. Maybe 2 years at most.

 

Just to be clear, who is fighting white hate and how is it justified? I really want to make sure you're saying what I think you're saying.

I think the prosecutor is going for overkill. Yeah, everyone would like to see this dbag made an example, for all the potential moron hate hoaxers. But, this was a victimless crime.

 

Victimless? Not so. The time and manpower spent investigating the hoax could have been used on other cases during that time(and I'm literally verbatim repeating the State of Chicago's argument.) Hell, if it could be proven that some cases would've been solved if not for the time wasted on Smollet's, he has quite a few wrongful death suits on his hand by those families.

No, it wasn’t victimless. Victimless means no one is hurt or pays. This hoax cost the taxpayers tons of money, resources were diverted from investigating real crimes, and hatred was fomented against innocent people, hatred which the left is fully engulfed in.

I hope he's convicted on all of them. What a dumbass. He probably doesn't even see the harm he causes all legitimate crime reports.

People are drawing comparisons between his actions and those of the folks calling the cops on minorities when nothing bad was going on. I think it's wrong to do so, as Smollett's intent was to deliberately deceive the police, a goal for which he took specific actions to create illusions. The people calling the cops on minorities when no crimes are occurring are guilty of stupidity in most cases, but not of an outright attempt to mislead. Therefore it is wrong to try and tie these two types of incidents together.

However, I would like to see some type of penalty for those folks in the extreme cases where no wrong doing was obviously occurring.

 

The whole thing will get dropped down to a plea bargain where he gets minimal jail time (if any).

 

You could also say it was a case of aflluenzia. Far removed from the rest of the world, Smollet clearly thought that the resources that belong to everyone(law enforcement) belong strictly to him, for his personal gain. He thought wrong.

 

Ok, so make the call: does a person plea out with no jail time for lying to law enforcement, or do they go to prison?

Sound to me like they couldn't find a real instance of white hate so he had to make it up. What a bogus premise. Like the little boy who cried wolf, eventually the criers like Smollett simply won't be believed......true or not.

This is the time of year this hate crime is done. It starts in the South (of course, the South is automatically guilty) and works its way to the North.

 

I know, right? It's impossible to keep track of what offends liberals. Calling gay people gay used to be considered a bad thing, now they hijacked the word. What I don't get is why is it OK to say people of color and not colored people?

In order to keep the peace, it's probably in everyone's best interests to assume that liberals are offended at just about everything.

You hit the nail on the head. Most conservatives don't notice that liberals keep changing the language and fail to realize that there is a conscious purpose behind all the language manipulation. It really is all about getting their enemy to use the wrong language so they can play the victim and destroy lives. If language was static, it would be much more difficult for them to play the victim.
