I am almost starting to think that you actually believe your highly- flawed "logic." Stratego would not suggest that Trump should run for the job of the leader, or win that position, in a country that is our enemy. Come on.

He is making out that it is just one bad politician in Russia, that needs replacing. While this may be true, it is a minimization of our current situation, and an unrealistic denial of the factual possibilities. I would assume that no foreign national would even be Constitutionally permitted, in Russia, to run for President (or any elected office, for that matter). Did this never occur to you?

Secondly, Putin does not permit any serious political challengers to run against him: he imprisons them. So, even if it were allowed-- which I'm sure that it is not-- and if Trump could beat Putin, in a fair election-- which is a highly dubious contention, in its own right--- there would be zero chance that Putin would allow Trump to run against him.

Could you possibly not be aware that the Russian State, controls all media, and even attempts to block internet content? For practical purposes, this means that Putin controls all Russian Media. And he's going to permit Trump ads, against him, even if Trump's popularity appears to be rising, to threaten Putin's power? I don't know how anyone could take such fantastical ideas, seriously.

I see this as a clear case of
bait and switch: get people to think of Russia as a Democratic nation, just like ourselves, by believing in the possibility of something which is utterly unreal.

If you find stratego's suggestion an earnest & plausible one, then there is too great a Gulf, between our perspectives, to even further debate this, much less to allow either of us to make any concessions to the other's point of view.

Replacing the leader of a country that is our enemy has been American foreign policy for the better part of the last 13 decades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_involvement_in_regime_change Getting American leaders elected in foreign countries is pretty much all the CIA does.

Yeah it occurred to me. But the practicality of his plan is not what I'm talking with you about. What I'm talking with you about is whether it expresses support for Russia's current foreign policy. You gave it as an example of someone on the right supporting Russia. Is your argument: his fantasy to fix the problem won't work, therefore he supports Russia? Non sequitur.

Interesting. What would you think if Zelenskyy did that? Do you know where Poroshenko was prior to the invasion, and why? Or is that different because little guy? I don't understand.

Again, irrelevant to the argument whether Stratego supports or opposes Russia.

Weird. What would you think if Zelenskyy did that? If Zelenskyy had his own media arm called Pravda instead of United News, how would that change your argument regarding Stratego's support for Russia?

Kinda like your bait and switch off the topic of whether Stratego supports Russia? Are you going to make that argument at some point?

I don't find stratego's suggesting earnest or plausible. I don't find it to be in support of Russia, either. This of course was the objection I had to your claim that it was.
