I needed $10K to fix my leaky roof — so I staged a rooftop strip show (msn.com)

I woulda taught her how to fix her own roof in exchange for the stripshow...

Seriously tho. Roofing aint hard. I mean, it can be physically difficult, but conceptually and technically, its simple. Getting up there is half the job. Literally anyone who isn't severely physically handicapped can fix a roof. The $10K isn't for skill, its to hire several guys (or gals, technically, tho in practice that's rare...) to bang it out quickly. Used to be that folks hired other folks to fix their roof because their time was worth more than the money it would take other people to do it. Now people are doing a striptease because they don't know how to fix a roof...?

Maybe instead of teaching about how some people feel like they're the opposite sex and which sex they should or shouldn't be having sex with, we teach a 'basic homeonwer skills' class in public school instead... I know, I know, we're not sposed to do anything ourselves, the economy would collapse if we didn't hire everything out. Is that really a good economy tho?

No, not exactly skilled labor but trained none the less.
Trained to insure not only is the installation done correctly, straight lines seal strip exposed, no gaps...etc. but also trained for safety. I know a guy that tried to do his own but couldn't finish it himself after getting the back cast put on.
