A very familiar story of someone confusing a popular product with their own popularity and influence.
Hey I hand it to someone who creates a succesful product and successful marketing campaign. Not to be confused with a "great product". He figured out he could buy scrap foam from the foam manufacturers chop it up and stuff it into a cheap pillow case and then like a circus barker hark it as some new break through. I hate his commercials but kudos to the marketing firm he hired, or to him and his own staff if it was all internal, it obviously worked. And as happens he seems to have confused a great successful product with his own ego.

I mean he's just a guy who makes pillows but here we are talking about him because he got to the national stage through his own self promotion. Only in America?

What do you think the intolerable acts were and why we came up with "no taxation without representation?" The Stamp Act, the British Parliament to pay for the 7 Years' War, or as we call it, the French and Indian War, because of the East India Tea Company demanded it. And the British Parliament obliged. Most of the initial activity was in the NE. We were British subjects and rebelled against the crown. King George III was a the lunatic and the British government did with the Tory party, the conservative party in the UK. King George III handlers at that time were the most to blame for most of the mess and why we fought. Remember, if they listened to our concerns, and even allowed representation in the parliament, then we would not have fought our war of Independence. The British viewed the Americas as a backward country full of miscreants and nobodies who would not survive in England proper. That was the British attitude, especially among the military. Thus, we fought against the British Crown, which was trying to have the American colonies pay for the 7 Years' War. Our concerns fell on deaf ears in the Crown, and thus, we thought we had no choice but to rebel. The freedom you speak of is not what you and I think of with the Bill of Rights or our current Constitution. We were pretty much free already. We had plenty of land to choose from in which poor families did and settled in upward New York and western Virginia, now known as Tennessee and Kentucky. But all of this was Indian territory and we, quite frankly, we didn't care. The Term American was your neighbor or the colony/state you live in. Nothing more. There was no "unified America" and that didn't come until after our own Civil War from 1865 onwards. I can pretty much assure you that the 1776 Project is more about myths in our history than real history in and of itself.

What you are spouting is the myth that we have taught since the 1950s.

Anyone remember what case this is connected to?

'Mike Lindell loses appeal against FBI's seizure of his cellphone in a Hardee's parking lot.'

    Source: Raw Story

'Pillow magnate Mike Lindell failed Friday in his effort to block the Justice Department from reviewing information held on a phone they seized from him in a Hardees parking lot.

Lindell claimed that the seizure violated his constitutional rights. An appeals court disagreed.

"Lindell's irritation as to where and how the government took possession of his cell phone does not give rise to a constitutional claim, let alone a showing of callous disregard for his constitutional rights," the ruling said.

"Here, a federal magistrate judge determined there was probable cause to seize and search Lindell's cell phone. The warrant explicitly authorized the search of Lindell's person for his cell phone as well as the seizure and search of the phone for records and information constituting 'fruits, evidence, or instrumentalities' of the three federal offenses" Lindell is being charged with, the ruling says.

Those charges include identity theft, damage to a protected computer and conspiracy to commit identity theft and/or cause intentional damage to a protected computer.'

When are these lawyers who represent MAGA crack-pots ever gonna learn?
Had Lindel not spent millions for Swamp Lake's deluded lawsuits and Tina Peters corrupt bull-**** along with his ridiculous "proof of election fraud" weekend carnivals that he paid millions to charlatans who claimed they had the goods he could have been able to pay his own lawyers,

'Lawyers bail on MyPillow’s Michael Lindell, saying he owes millions in fees'

'Citing shortfall, two law firms seek to terminate representation of 2020 election denier.'

    snip:

'Prominent election conspiracy theorist and MyPillow founder Mike Lindell faces money woes so serious that two law firms defending him are seeking to dump him as a client.

A Minnesota-based law firm, Parker Daniels Kibort, and Washington-based Lewin and Lewin notified federal judges in Washington and St. Paul Thursday that they are owed millions of dollars in legal fees by Lindell and his company in connection with lawsuits where voting machine makers Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems and a former Dominion employee are suing Lindell for defamation.

One of the attorneys, Andrew Parker, said in court filings that MyPillow stopped paying his firm’s invoices on time this year and has paid only a fraction of them in recent months.

“Beginning in August 2023 and again in September 2023, PDK warned Defendants that if they did not pay the outstanding invoices and continue to pay new invoices as they came due, PDK would have to withdraw its representation of Defendants,” Parker wrote. “Two relatively small payments were made in August 2020 and two relatively small payments were made in September 2023, but these were only a fraction of the total owed….At this time, Defendants are in arrears millions of dollars to PDK.”

In an interview with POLITICO Thursday, Lindell acknowledged he hasn’t paid the lawyers and said he doesn’t fault them for seeking to pull out.

'These guys were courageous lawyers. They took on the case when nobody else would….Over the last two months, we haven’t been able to pay these lawyers at all,” Lindell said. “They came to me and said we can’t go on if we can’t get paid. I said, there’s no money.”

Lindell said his company experienced money woes in recent months after American Express cut a line of credit he had from $1 million to $100,000. At the moment, he said, he needs to use all the funds he has access to to make payroll for his company.

“The lawfare has just ran us out of money. That was probably what they wanted to accomplish in the first place. It’s disgusting,” he said.'

While Parker’s submissions said Lindell is trying to line up new lawyers, he said he has no immediate prospects on that front. “People are going to be afraid to be lawyers. I don’t know where I go from here,” he said.

'Stop the crucifixion of Mike Lindell'

'Woke' corporatists seek to bankrupt any business that does not conform to the left'

    By Peter Navarro - - Tuesday, October 3, 2023
    OPINION:

'The crucifixion of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell by “woke corporatists represents a new and dangerous form of uncivil warfare that threatens to further divide our nation even as it desecrates the First Amendment.

Before “wokeism,” Mr. Lindell was praised across the ideological divide. He overcame drug and gambling addictions to create a powerhouse U.S. company employing thousands of Americans.

If every American CEO had the same “made in the USA” ethic as Mr. Lindell, I may never have served in the Trump White House. There simply would have not been any jobs and factories for then-President Donald Trump bring home to America.'

Everyone needs to read the link you provided.
Trump is an economic idiot. How anyone thinks he is a great businessman is beyond me.
Maybe elect Paris Hilton for president? as she has done way better with business than Trump could dream of.
All Trump is good at is creating illusions, and he's only good at that when taking advantage of certain groups.

Jimmy has seriously expressed concern to Mike about his mental well being so it will be interesting to see if he becomes an enabler of Mike's addictive obsession or passes.

'Lindell Asks Jimmy Kimmel to Host Telethon for His Legal Bills
    Could happen.

Mike Lindell announced that he is holding a telethon on October 28 to ask people to donate money to his legal defense fund, and he wants to have Jimmy Kimmel host it.

Lindell has been a guest on Kimmel's show twice. Kimmel would only agree to a second appearance on the show if Lindell agreed to sit in a claw machine. Lindell readily agreed, saying the public humiliation was worth it to "get the word out" about his crusade to prove the 2020 election was stolen from his hero Donald Trump.

Now that Lindell is broke and owes his previous attorneys over a million dollars in unpaid legal bills, he needs to raise some cash quick or be forced to represent himself, which he stated earlier this week he is prepared to do. So, he now had an idea to hold a "telethon" where people can donate to his legal defense fund.

Lindell says that since Kimmel told him that he is his "biggest fan," he thinks that he would be perfect to headline the telethon. Also, since Kimmel has hosted the Academy Awards, he has experience doing major events like this.'
