I do think we are right to be cynical of McCain picking a VP from a voting segment he didn't perform well in just as we should Biden.

What tangible accomplishment did she announce? The Guatemalan President pretty much told her to take a hike and not to come down there and blame him for her border.

 

She is the VP and you are the former VP of the Alabama Teenage Republicans. She came from a hardworking first generation immigrant family on both sides. From those humble beginnings she managed to get herself a fine education and a law degree. She has worked her way up the political system to become a county DA, to AG of our largest state, to US Senator and now VP of the USA. If she were my mother, sister, wife or daughter I would be extremely proud of her. She is new in her job in a
new administration so I will tend to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope she grows into her job and becomes a positive force for America. People like you and threads like this are a prime example of a bunch of gossiping losers taking pit shots from the cheapest of cheap seats. I am sure she couldn’t give a rats ass what any of you have to say.

 

You just gave a great example of how women and POC aren’t kept down or oppressed.

 

I give her a lot of credit for her accomplishments and am very optimistic that she will be a fine VP and maybe POTUS one day. In my opinion, she is a very intelligent, tough and attractive woman just coming into her prime. Just the kind of people we need need in government. I certainly wish her well on her incredible American journey.

Do you remember the general saying that during the 1/6 insurrection that Pence wasn't in the chain of command!!! And then, you laughably say POTUS "ceded his authority" by putting her in charge. Bet you wish Trump knew that when he "ceded his authority" and put Pence in charge of the pandemic crisis. Wait......no one ever blamed Pence did they? No even Trump....who blames anyone but himself. The vice president is an officer in the legislative branch and the president of the Senate. And you don't think she could go to the border and direct US Customs and Border protection or help them find resources to keep the border locked down?

 

She’s got no authority to direct them or to appropriate funds. Chuck Nancy and Mitch are all more powerful than she is

 

Most VP's though(or at least within the last 10-15 years) had some degree of competence. Say what you will about Mike Pence, but he's a mainstream Republican as you said. Had he actually taken over, well there still would've been vitriol but it wouldn't have been "the end of the country AS WE KNOW IT!!!!!!!"

Here, with Harris she is uniquely unqualified for the position.. We knew she was unqualified because she couldn't even qualify past the 3rd democratic debate(thank god.). The 2020 democratic primary showed how corrupt the democratic party is, with Michael Bloomberg bragging that he'd brought the entire house. No one sans Elizabeth Warren raised a peep.
