Completely ridiculous that we can't find 60 reasonable Senators to put their names to this and get it passed. Will Democrats be held accountable for this situation?
If Donald Trump weren't president, it gets passed easily. But because he is, expect whiners from the neo-con right, and everyone Left. That's our situation.
Just another reason to loathe Democrats and they will Be blamed. Doesn't play well in middle America. They will lose in midterms.
Kate's Law is a no-lose situation for Republicans in the Senate. Typically, there are 33 out of 100 senators up for reelection every two years. Contrary to the media lies, the BIGGEST OBSTACLE to passing Kate's Law are democrats marching in lock-step with each other. That's not the way our system is supposed to work, an entire party marching in lock-step. It clearly shows that democrat senators have an allegiance to their party instead of the people that elected them. In 2018, there will be 23 or 24 democrat senators up for reelection. If just 8 or 9 of those seats are converted to republicans because dems blocked Kate's Law, then republicans will have a SUPER MAJORITY in the Senate after 2018. Republicans win either way. Steve
They really are out of touch with real Americans, aren't they? And yet, they expect to win elections with that kind of attitude. WOW! Lose the Libs/Progressives and get back to making America great again...
24 democrats voted in favor of it in the House, so your "lock-step" complaint hardly is reflected in reality. While there is no way the dems will retake the Senate, they are not in a horrible position being the party of opposition against an unpopular President. At worst, they could lose 3 seats.
You are still thinking like a typical democrat. Of the 23 democrat senators up for reelection in 2018, TEN are in states that voted for Trump by double digits in 2016. The media has brainwashed you about Trump and you won't know it until you lose yet another election since 2010. And dem election losses since 2010 haven't had anything to do with Trump. Steve
No you are thinking like a Trump cultist. Most of those Senators are incumbent Senators. Democratic incumbents have a safer edge than Republican incumbents historically by about 2%. Historically, the party in opposition's incumbents hold their own, especially in the Senate, and those numbers improve drastically for them when the President is of the other party and their approval ratings are low. The GOP will not be getting a super majority. sucks but them be the breaks.
Still thinking like a democrat, meaning you are ignoring the facts that "incumbent democrats" have been losing seats ACROSS THE BOARD at ALL LEVELS of government, local, state and federal levels SINCE 2010. But it couldn't POSSIBLY be the democrat party's fault could it. Steve
No I am thinking like someone who has looked at the historical statistical data, and history says I am right and you are wrong. It has nothing to do with which side is in the majority and which side is in the minority other than that democratic seats tend to be safer seats the republican seats.
Don't know. How about you finding out since this is a point you seem to want to make. But since the shooter on the Kate situation had multiple convictions and deportations already, then if 3 strikes worked it should have worked for him.
Every time anoher person is hurt/killed by an illegal every senators name who voted no should be listed on the news 24/7. Vote those anti American traitors out.
You see folks, this is why the democrats are losing elections and will continue to lose elections. They are so out of touch with reality thinking the reason for their losses are only usual statistics. It couldn't possibly be that their precious party has been wrong, marching in lock-step together and all. Steve
It does leave the impression that Democratic senators are more interested in protecting illegal immigrants that go around killing American citizens or doing harm to them than protecting Americans.
