PUKmedia 16-10-2011 11:44:44 Thousands of citizens carrying large flags of Kurdistan Region , took to the streets of Khanaqin a "disputed" town today to protest against a decision issued by Iraqi interior Minister to lower the Kurdish flag on top of schools and government buildings in the district. The aforementioned decision fueled anger among officials , residents in Khanaqin district in particular and Kurdistan Region in general. Khanaqin district commissioner Muhammad Mala Hassan told the demonstrators that their demands will be carried out and Kurdistan flag will remain flying with the Iraqi flag on all government buildings and facilities and Khanaqin will remain a Kurdistani City.
