http://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-syria-hasaka-idUSKCN0XI1G6 Kurds are of the few moderate rebels on the US side. They made truces with Assad to fight ISIS, but with ISIS gone, clashes could get ugly. Unlike other rebels, they don't want Assad's downfall but their own autonomy which Assad refused. Kurds had been a key ally in the US effort against ISIS. Time for more weapons for Kurds? I think the brave men and women deserve their own state after all their oppression from Assad, Turkey, and Saddam. Also a good time to break the Russia-Kurd-Iran alliance.
Before shouting at Russia. Review history. Kurds been fighting for decades in many nations in middle East. From Turkey to Iran who don't want them to have state. If usa view is something magical happen if Assad goes they are really ignorant.
I think the ideal situation is one where the Kurds get their own country but Assad stays. Unfortunately, we've been siding more with Turkey, and they have been aiding ISIS. In short, we shouldn't be allies with Turkey.
I don't know .. some Kurdish factions have a long history of violence in Turkey and Syria with backing from the Mossad. I can't imagine Kurds siding with Iran (or Russia) since most are Sunni.
Besides usa clutching at air. Obama obsessed with Assad must go. While factions turn to Russia who are pragmatic. In Syria, the leaders discuss in Russian military bases. Putin, lavrov are realistic. Change inside the country with people who matter. Obama Kerry on sidelines thousands of miles away.
