so what is the difference between an MI carbine and an AR 15 other than

    1) caliber
    2) that the MI carbine was actually military issue

Wow so it's a rifle with a shorter overall length, like many people who go hunting in like to shoot for sport like to use...
Carbines have been around since guns have been around

He admitted that the AR 15 and the MI carbine are both carbines so I cannot figure why he made the comment unless he didnt' realize that similarity until after I commented

so what was the point of the bolded response when you then admit that both MIs and ARs are both carbines

" weapons of war " is a melodramatic and hyperbolic terminology that hoplophobes like to use. A completely meaningless term

Like I said earlier a single shot flintlock smoothbore was once a weapon of war. Like turtle dude said it doesn't matter.... It literally does not matter. Has absolutely zero to do with the people's ability to keep and bear arms.

It's just something that the anti-gun phobes like to parrot so they can run around with their hair on fire

Propaganda is a weapon of war, but they seem pretty attached to it...

you seem afraid to deal with the fact that your attempt to distinguish between an MI and an AR completely failed and you immediately retreated from the non-distinction of "carbine"

yeah when I asked you what was the difference between an AR and a MI you said Carbine and then you later admitted so is the AR 15.

so when I asked you what the difference was-saying one was a carbine was completely irrelevant

Interesting. MI Carbines are "real weapons of war" even though they are semi-auto with a 15 round magazine, and less powerful round than AR15? If AR15 had been available in WW2, the GI's would have been happy to have them, and then they'd also be "real weapons of war". Sounds like the only thing which makes a firearm a "real weapon of war" is whether or not it has been utilized in a war.

well YEAH, that's the point I was making and those who call things Weapons of war erroneously are lying. For most of our history, weapons of war were the same thing as "weapons of hunting" or self defense.

it's a term of demonization by gun banners

Well, I'm just saying that the AR15 is more lethal than the rifle you call "real weapon of war".
